🚨 BACK TO SCHOOL = MORE KIDS ON OUR ROADS 🚨

As students return to school, our streets, crosswalks, sidewalks, and bus stops are once again busy with children traveling to and from class.

The Eufaula Police Department is reminding everyone that driving under the influence is 100% preventable. A single impaired-driving decision can have consequences that last a lifetime, not only for the driver, but for an innocent child or family.

🎒 More students are walking and biking.
🚌 School buses are making frequent stops.
🚸 School zones and crosswalks are busy.
👮 Officers will be working to help keep our students safe.

Please do your part:

✅ Drive sober.
✅ Stay alert and avoid distractions.
✅ Buckle up every trip.
✅ Slow down and use extra caution around schools and buses.
✅ Be the example our children are watching.

They’re going back to school. Let’s make sure they make it back home.

Drive Sober. Protect Their Tomorrow.

School is back in session starting Thursday, August 20! 🚌📚

Please use extra caution when traveling in and around our school zones. The image provided offers a few simple ways to avoid the traffic congestion that typically comes with the first few days of school.

Whether you choose to wait it out or find an alternate route, please remember to slow down, stay alert, and be patient. Students, parents, teachers, school staff, and drivers are all adjusting to new schedules and routines.

A little patience and extra caution can go a long way toward helping everyone have a safe and successful start to the school year! 🚸✏️

Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year! We are so excited to see our students and families back on campus. To help keep our drop-off and pick-up running smoothly and safely every day, please check out the signs posted along our driveways and car lanes, and take a quick look at the guidelines below.

Driveway & Entrance Locations by Grade
Kindergarten, 1st & 2nd Grade: Enter at the far east driveway (the new loop). Students will enter and exit through the gym doors.

Pre-K: Enter at the west driveway (using the east side of the drive). Students will enter and exit through the Pre-K doors.

3rd–5th Grade: Enter at the west driveway (using the west side of the drive). Students enter through the main front doors and exit from the cafeteria.

Siblings (K–5th): All 3rd–5th grade students who have a younger sibling in K–2nd will join their sibling and be picked up at the gym location.

Daily Morning & Afternoon Schedule
7:45 AM – 8:10 AM: Morning Car Rider Drop-Off
7:45 AM – 8:05 AM: Breakfast Served
8:10 AM: Tardy Bell Rings (Please have your child here by 8:05 AM so they can get settled for a great start!)
2:50 PM: Pre-K Dismissal
3:10 PM: K–5th Grade Dismissal

Car Lane & Safety Tips
Yellow Car Rider Signs: For student safety, cars must display the yellow car rider sign from the rearview mirror to pick up a student. A pants hanger works great to clip and unclip your sign easily! Need a replacement or extra sign? Stop by the front office to purchase one.

Stay in Your Vehicle: To keep traffic moving safely, all parents must remain inside their vehicles during drop-off and pick-up.
Be Ready to Unload: Please make sure your child has their backpack and belongings ready to go so the line moves swiftly.

First Week Patience: Traffic is always a bit congested during the first week of school—hang in there, it gets much faster as everyone learns the routine!

Bus Riders Please allow a little extra time during the first week as our bus drivers fine-tune their routes. Afternoon routes often run a few minutes behind early on, so no need to worry if they are running a little late!

Thank you for your partnership, patience, and support in making this school year safe and wonderful for our kids!

We are looking forward to seeing our students at EHS tomorrow! Here are a few things to keep in mind to help with the first day. The doors open at 7:40. Students should not be on campus before then. Students getting dropped off in the mornings should be dropped off in front of the main office in the main parking lot. Band students only may still be dropped off at the band room. The first bell rings at 8:00, and the tardy bell rings at 8:05. If you are picking your student up at the end of the day, please pick him or her up in front of the main office at 3:05. Due to ongoing construction, please pay attention to the attached diagram to assist with traffic flow in the parking lot. Thank you for helping make sure everything goes smoothly!
