🏪 Eufaula is Open for Business!

Opening a business, moving into a new location, or making improvements to an existing one? The City of Eufaula wants to make it easier to know where to start.

The new Doing Business in Eufaula handout provides a quick reference for:

✅ Permits for signs, remodeling, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other improvements
✅ Zoning and property-use considerations
✅ City staff who can help answer questions
✅ Local business, tourism, and workforce resources

The goal is simple: call early and ask questions. A quick conversation before signing a lease, ordering a sign, or beginning improvements can help avoid delays, rework, and unexpected costs.

Eufaula is open for business, and City staff are here to help businesses get started and grow!

💧 Water System Preventative Maintenance

This week, a contractor is cleaning and inspecting the City’s water storage tanks as part of the City’s preventative maintenance program.

The process includes removing sediment that naturally builds up in the tanks over time, helping maintain and improve water quality throughout the system. Going forward, the City plans to have its water storage tanks professionally cleaned and inspected each year.

Customers who experience any water quality concerns during this process are encouraged to contact City Hall at 918-689-2534 so staff can address the issue.

This annual maintenance is another step toward proactively maintaining our water system and providing reliable, quality water to our customers.

🚧🚜 Evergreen Cemetery Road Improvement Update 🛣️🚧

Most of the asphalt has now been laid at Evergreen Cemetery, and the roadway is open for visitors to drive on. While this is a major step forward, the project is not yet complete. Additional work remains, including finishing the roadway edges, completing shoulder work, and addressing other final details.

Today, representatives from the Oklahoma Asphalt Pavement Association joined City staff to walk the project, evaluate the work completed so far, and identify areas for continued improvement.

This project represents an important milestone for the City: the first in-house asphalt roadway project undertaken by the City’s Street team. Developing this capability will allow Public Works to take on additional asphalt improvements, with the team primarily focused on neighborhood roads, while continuing to build staff skills and experience.

The City appreciates the Oklahoma Asphalt Pavement Association for sharing its time and expertise and thanks visitors for their patience as the remaining work at Evergreen Cemetery is completed. 👷🚜

🔭What could Eufaula look like in 2050?👀

Last week, the City hosted a Comprehensive Plan Open House at City Hall, where several placemaking design concepts were shared for public discussion. We’re sharing those concepts here so more residents have an opportunity to see them and be part of the conversation.

These concepts explore possibilities for Eufaula’s future and are intended to help us think about how our community could grow, improve public spaces, and build on the things that make Eufaula unique.

It is important to remember that these are concepts — not approved projects. The Comprehensive Plan is intended to establish a long-term vision for Eufaula through 2050. Any idea shown would still depend on funding, feasibility, logistics, future opportunities, and ultimately City Council approval before becoming a project.

Think of the Comprehensive Plan as a roadmap to 2050. It helps identify where we want to go as a community, while the specific route we take will depend on the opportunities, resources, and decisions made along the way.

Take a look through the concepts and let us know what you think. Your feedback helps shape the vision for Eufaula’s future.
