🚩RED FLAG WARNING
The National Weather Service in Portland has issued a Red Flag Warning due to critical fire weather conditions, including wind, high temperatures, and low relative humidity.
Today's Red Flag Warning begins at 1 PM and extends through 8 PM tonight. This warning affects nearly all of EPUD's service territory.
⚠️ EPUD’S PLAN OF ACTION
During the Red Flag Warning, the operation of the utility's protection equipment will be modified. As a result, outages may be more likely to occur, could impact larger areas, and outage response times may be slower.
If power goes out during a Red Flag Warning, line crews will inspect the entire affected area before restoring power; however, the inspection cannot begin until the wind dies down.
🛑 BE PREPARED
If you lose power during a Red Flag Warning, there may be a delay before restoration efforts begin. If you rely on power for health care or life-support equipment, prepare a backup emergency plan to meet your needs in the event of an outage.
🛑 STAY SAFE
Use extra caution with potential ignition sources, especially in grassy areas, and avoid outdoor burning. Stay aware of your surroundings. If you see anything concerning, call 911.
