Sharing the survey from Disability Rights Oregon

Tell Disability Rights Oregon (DRO) what you think! We use your answers to help us understand the disability community’s needs to shape our goals and priorities for next year.

Every day we fight to create a world where everyone benefits from the inclusion of people who experience a disability. We push communities to rethink how we set up our schools, workplaces, places of business, and public structures to ensure that people with disabilities truly belong. What do you think we should tackle next?

If you need an alternative format of this survey, please contact us at (503) 243-2081 or 1 (800) 452-1694 or [email protected].

A few weeks ago, we had the amazing opportunity to cheer on the athletes and para-athletes at Hayward Field as TrackTown USA hosted the Outdoor and Para National Championships for USA Track and Field.

Throughout the 3-day event, we helped provide accessible athlete shuttles to over 145 athletes, coaches, and officials to and from Hayward Field.

We supported Adaptive Sports NW in tabling to promote awareness of adaptive athletes and para track and field.

And we provided over 250 free tickets to community members and partner groups to cheer on the athletes and be the best spectators in the arena! Huge thanks to TrackTown for supporting this!

The USA Track & Field Outdoor and Para National Championships start tomorrow here in Eugene! This is the first time that the Outdoor and Para Nationals are at the same place and the same time. Follow U.S. Paralympics Track & Field and TrackTown USA to be a part of the excitement and learn about the athletes and events.

And, tune in to Peacock TV to stream the new docuseries called "Adaptive," which highlights incredible athletes like Ezra Fech, who will be competing here this weekend at the Para Nationals Championships.

It is with heavy hearts that we learn about the passing of Kevin Hansen, our friend and colleague who has been a lifetime champion of adaptive sports.

From his wife, Connie Hansen:

With a completely broken heart I am sad to let you all know that Kevin Hansen passed away Saturday March 15th peacefully. He had been battling a severe bone infection after having major surgery. He was the love of my life.
Most of you visiting this page know what Kevin did for wheelchair sports in Oregon and elsewhere. He was most proud of getting young wheelchair track and field athletes included in their middle and high school sports and competitions. Kev also felt very privileged to have trained many Paralympic athletes, quite a few who participated in the Paralympic Games in Atlanta, London and Rio.
His love of sports also brought him to introduce the disabled to sailing, boating and waterskiing through his program DisAbled sailing and waterfest.
Is personally thank all of you who have supported Kevin and disabled sports.
There will be a celebration of life held for Kevin. The time and date to be announced soon.
