College Republicans serve as the grassroots arm of the Republican Party—a counterbalance to unions and leftist interest groups. Founded in 1892, the College Republican National Committee is the oldest, largest, and most active youth political organization in America. Today, the committee has more than 1,800 chapters, supporting over 250,000 members, nationwide, and is comprised of 51 federations—o

ne from each state and one from the District of Columbia. The Oregon Federation of College Republicans is one such federation, serving as the administrative body for all College Republican activity in the State of Oregon. Our organization is charged with and responsible for building and maintaining College Republican chapters within the Beaver State. The federation may go about fulfilling this obligation through the coordination of recruitment and fundraising events on college campuses across Oregon, as well as by holding biannual State Board meetings, where members of the federation's Executive Board and representatives from each recognized chapter come together in order to improve communication and expedite the federation's policies and programs. In addition, the federation serves as the primary link—a liaison—between chapters and both the Oregon Republican Party and the College Republican National Committee. In tandem with these entities, the Oregon Federation of College Republicans circulates important credentialing and contact information, organizes and implements statewide campaigns and initiatives, and runs party-building and get-out-the-vote efforts in order to elect Republican candidates and preserve the prosperity that so many young people have been raised or independently come to associate with the United States of America. Today, we mourn the loss of thirteen American service members who paid the ultimate price in the defense of their country. Thirteen families got a knock on the door that changed their lives forever, and we stand with them.

This tragedy did not have to happen. Losing precious American lives leaving Afghanistan was never inevitable. The situation which lead to this horror was created by the very leaders we trusted to be competent in planning and directing policy for our defense. The incompetency of our leaders in directing this withdrawal has eroded that trust.

The thirteen men and women listed below who lost their lives served with honor and distinction to the best of their abilities. They represent the best of America. They did not fail, our leaders failed them.

While going mostly unreported by the mainstream media, the CIA added four new stars to their Memorial Wall, each anonymously representing a CIA officer fallen in the line of duty. Their names and the circumstances of their deaths will likely not be known for years, perhaps even decades, and we honor their sacrifice.

The CIA has dedicated four new stars on its Memorial Wall, but the names and stories of the agents behind them remain classified.
