We had a very significant drain back up and water clean up situation which had the potential to close us down, but to the rescue came Dry Pro and Baxter Plumbing & Rooter! We are so thankful for their fast and effective service!! We highly recommend both of these companies!

Our classroom is a hub of healthy activities, including counseling, job readiness classes, life skills classes, musical instruction and more! We are very pleased to be offering these important services to our young homeless community!

It is difficult to estimate the number of young people under the age of 24 who are experiencing homelessness in our area.

Thank you Lane Workforce Partnership and Eugene Delta Rotary for your partnership in serving our young homeless community!

Friday was a great day for Delta Rotary and Team Oregon Build/Constructing a Brighter Future: we handed them a check for $6,074, money raised by our Black Tie Bingo event in January. There to receive the funds was Jesse Quinn, who talked about organization’s mission of empowering youth through hands-on construction projects. They started building sheds for victims of the Holiday Farm Fire, then took on the challenge of building transitional housing for people experiencing homelessness. With funding from the state of Oregon and other sources, they’ve completed 70 units at Everyone Village in Eugene. Black Tie Bingo funds will support the construction of two small homes for unhoused teens identified by Hosea Youth Services (another Delta partner). Delta will also help furnish the new homes. We are very pleased to announce the hiring of Jarl Berg, who will be serving as an Employment Specialist! His focus will be to assist our guests to enter and remain in the workforce, connecting with prospective employers, and directing some of our guests to programs at Connected Lane County. Welcome Jarl!

"When I first came to Hosea’s, I was at my lowest. I was homeless, caught up in drugs, and honestly didn’t see much hope for myself. I didn’t have anyone, and I didn’t really care about anything anymore. I was tired — physically, mentally, and
emotionally. But walking through those doors was the first real step toward changing my life, even if I didn’t know it then."

This is part of an email we recently received from one of our guests. For the young people we serve, our Resource Center is a starting place for life change.
