🎆 Celebrating Independence & Inclusion for All! 🎆
Independence Day is all about freedom, community, and coming together with the ones we love. As we gear up for the fireworks, parades, and backyard barbecues in the Eugene and Springfield area, Supported Employment Services, Inc. (SES) wants to remind everyone that true community celebration means making sure everyone is included.
For adults who experience intellectual and developmental disabilities, navigating large local events can sometimes come with unique sensory or physical barriers. This Fourth of July, let's work together to create welcoming, accessible spaces where every neighbor can participate fully!
3 Ways to Promote Inclusion This 4th of July:
🌟Create Sensory-Friendly Spaces: If you're hosting a neighborhood gathering, designate a quiet area away from loud music or intense fireworks where guests can take a sensory break.
🌟Prioritize Accessible Formats: From clear pathways for mobility devices to sharing event schedules in straightforward, easy-to-read layouts, small adjustments make a huge difference.
🌟Foster Welcoming Connections: Inclusion starts with a simple hello. Ensure everyone is invited to join in the lawn games, conversation, and holiday fun!
At SES, we are dedicated to empowering individuals through our comprehensive local services—including Supported Employment, Supported Living, Job Development, Financial Management and Skills Development, and Benefits Counseling services. We believe that an inclusive community is a stronger community.
