Please help us in congratulating Special Projects Assistant James Knighton on being voted the City of Euless Employee of the Month for May. James has been with the Euless Fire Department for just about two years, but his commitment to service in the Euless community extends well beyond that. Prior to joining the department, he served as a member of the ECFAAA, was the program manager for Euless CERT, and participated in the Amateur Radio Euless club. We are proud to recognize his continued dedication, hard work, and service-oriented mindset that has been seen not only within the Euless Fire Department, but throughout the City of Euless as a whole.

Congratulations, James!

Last Friday, we recognized a milestone that means more than just time on the calendar. Firefighter/Paramedic Blake Thompson has officially completed his probationary period and received his firefighter badge and shield. In the fire service, this isn’t just a formality; it’s a tradition rooted in trust, hard work, and proving yourself day in and day out. That badge represents long shifts, tough calls, relentless training, and the commitment to stand ready when the tones drop and the community is counting on you. It is not handed out lightly. It is earned through time, effort, and proving you can be counted on when it matters most. During the badge pinning ceremony, it is more than just receiving a badge. The probationary shield is traded in for the Euless Fire Department shield, a symbol that carries even greater weight. That shield becomes part of who you are on the job, riding on the helmet through every call, every shift, and every challenge ahead. It bears his name and represents the department he now fully stands for, serving as a constant reminder of the trust placed in him and the brotherhood he has officially joined.

Congratulations, Firefighter Thompson. Well earned.

The time has come for our 2026 Fill-the-Boot campaign to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association!
Be on the lookout for at Lowe’s on SH-121 starting this week. Come grab that one thing you went in for and the ten things you didn’t know you needed and toss a donation in the boot while you’re at it. If you’re not making a Lowe’s run, you can scan the QR code below and donate online. But let’s be honest, there’s always a reason to end up at Lowe’s, so you might as well make it count. We appreciate the support and can’t wait to see you out there helping us fill the boot!

Last week, two of our own had the incredible opportunity to attend FDIC International in Indianapolis, Indiana; one of the largest and most respected fire service conferences in the world. FDIC brings together firefighters from across the country for hands-on training, education, and the sharing of knowledge that ultimately strengthens the service we provide to our community. These two didn’t end up there by chance. They earned it. Firefighter/Paramedic Josh Williams was named Employee of the Year and Firefighter/Paramedic Garrett Hill was named Rookie of the Year, a direct reflection of the work they’ve been putting in day in and day out.

A big thank you to the Euless Citizens Fire Academy Alumni Association for backing them and making the trip possible. Your continued support, investment, and belief in our people is what creates opportunities like this and helps us keep raising the bar. We are grateful to have a group that stands behind us the way you do.

This week, we recognize the ones who may not be seen on scene, but are essential to everything we do.

When the tones drop, they’re already working. Gathering the details, keeping callers calm, and making sure we have what we need before the wheels ever start turning. Everyone hears their voice, but not everyone realizes just how much rides on it.

They’re the calm in the chaos, the steady voice on the other end of the radio, and the link that keeps everything moving when it matters most.

To our dispatchers, thank you for having our backs on every call, every shift, every time. We might not say it enough, but we know exactly how important you are to what we do.

We’re proud to be on the same team.
