🚒 FIREFIGHTER FUNERAL PROCESSION — HONORING ROBERT HUGHES 🚒

This Thursday at 1:00 PM, we will be leaving Our Saviour’s Church in Abbeville, traveling west on Highway 14 to Springhill Road, passing in front of the Meaux-Nunez Fire Station, and continuing on to Maurice.

This will be a firefighter funeral procession honoring our brother and friend, Firefighter Robert Hughes.

If you would like to pay your respects to Robert and his family we ask that you safely pull over and park on the shoulder of Highway 14 as the procession passes. Please remain safely off the roadway and show your support with a salute, a wave, or simply a moment of silence.

Let’s come together as a community and show Robert and his family just how much of an impact he made—not only within the firefighting community, but in the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Rest easy, Robert. Your brothers and sisters have the watch from here. ❤️‍🩹🚒

Funeral Services for Meaux-Nunez Firefighter Robert Hughes will be Thursday, August 27, 2026. Visitation will be from 10 AM - 12 PM at Our Saviors Church in Abbeville, LA. The procession will go from Our Saviors Church to Cypress Funeral Home in Maurice, LA. If any department would like to have a truck in the procession, please be at Our Saviors Church at 9 AM for line up.
