City of Eunice
The City of Eunice has began picking up Hurricane Laura related storm debris.
It is very important that these items are separated in piles by the main three types; construction, vegetation and white goods. If the items are combined in a pile it will NOT be picked up.
Definition for items:
-“Construction debris” (building materials, drywall, lumber, carpet, furniture, mattresses, plumbing)
-“Vegetation debris” (tree branches, leaves and logs)
-“White Goods” (refrigerators, washer and dryers, freezers, air conditioners, stoves, water heaters and dishwashers).
Place all debris to the right of way, between the utility poles or sidewalks and the road. The city cannot pick up any debris on private property legally. Be mindful of any downed powerlines and placing debris on corners that could possibly block the view of traffic.
Please be patient as this is a huge undertaking to complete on top of our normal day to day duties.
Utility crews may be in your area cutting branches and dropping them at the location, that company will be back later for the removal process. This particular instance will only relate to crews hired by Cleco.
