On June 18, 2020, a Deputy with the Eunice City Marshal’s Office observed a vehicle with an expired inspection sticker traveling west on Maple Ave. The Deputy then pulled the vehicle over on Viola Street. Upon coming in contact with the female driver, the Deputy smelled a strong odor of marijuana. The Deputy asked her to exit the vehicle and read her Miranda Rights to her. The Deputy asked if she had any marijuana on her. The driver, later identified as Bridgette Marcantel, a white female, stated that there was marijuana in a black and grey backpack on the backseat. Inside the backpack was a small plastic bag containing a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana along with $95 in currency. Also located were a black scale and a brown wallet containing $400. Additional small plastic bags and one larger bag of a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana was also located. Total weight of the marijuana was 39 grams. Also located were 3 white and clear plastic containers of cannabis oil containing THC and a black box containing THC. I would like to take the time to thank one of our local Eunice City Marshal deputies for going above and beyond the call of duty on many occasions and especially today. We had a visit from a parent seeking help with a child and after a short discussion I contacted the Marshals office and asked deputy Marcus Bergeron to lend us some law enforcement assistance. Within moments he arrived and words cannot describe the level of care and compassion this officer showed when speaking to this child. He truly put his heart and soul into doing everything possible to make a difference in the life of this young person and it’s not the first time I’ve seen Mr Bergeron do so. I’d like to commend all of our City Marshals on the job they do daily. Every one of them have always show courtesy, compassion and respect on any call we’ve responded to together and it’s always a pleasure working with them. Thank you again for your help Marcus.
***REWARD $1,000.00 REWARD*** For the safe return of Leo who is 3 years old and not aggressive. No questions will be asked. His family just wants him home! Alert! Please tag and share with anyone in your area.. Leo has light green eyes, he has been neutered, and he has really funny teeth, like a child’s teeth before their adult teeth come in. He has like a underbite or overbite. Please keep your eyes and ears open, because he is out there somewhere, Thank y’all so much for your time, effort, and energy in helping to find Leo.🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Please explain an clarify the rules of the student pickup line in regards to phone usage. Is no one allowed to be on their phones? Even when parked? What about e-readers, or paper books? I think a marshal DRIVING around in the school zone and being distracted while looking for people on their phone is pretty dangerous. I suppose listening to the radio could also be deemed too distracting while sitting in park. Would hate for someone to get relaxed while listening to music and take their focus off of the car they’ve been behind for the last 25 minutes. People have other children and lives that still go on when parked in line for 20+ minutes. Sometimes they have to answer text regarding other children, their family, jobs, school functions etc. Anyway, please advise of the rules as to where they begin and end.
I am offering a $2,000.00 reward for the return of my Western Show Saddle. Stolen from my yard near Richard, La.. There were only two saddles made like this saddle. A man's and ladies saddle. My father bought this saddle for me over 45 years ago. please call me or detective Tyler Broussard of the APSO if you know who or where this saddle may be? Detective Broussard will hand out the reward as people have been lying to me about the saddle. I will not prosecute the thief if he hands the saddle in with all of its decorations. Someone texted me these last five photos and I can see they took my name off of the back cantle and it looks like they have removed the brass decorations that look like marijuana leaves. But the whole saddle is carved with these same leaves. If you recognize this house where the pictures were taken, please call 337-344-0144
