Grassy Knob Fire

For many years Eureka Springs has been the host to several car clubs. One of the most popular ones is the Midwest Blue Oval Club. The club is a Ford club with a Mustang Club of America charter.
The Blue Oval Club was formed in 2014 by a group of Ford enthusiast with the sole purpose of putting on All-Ford events around Americas heartland. Many of the Mustangs are highly valued and many are trailered to Eureka Springs.
Each car pays an entrance fee, and the club brings their own judges. They then use the net proceeds to benefit charities within the towns or cities in which the events take place. The Club supports family-oriented automotive events. They wish the general public becomes aware of the historical significance and heritage. The Club exists for the die-hard Ford enthusiast for fun and camaraderie. Medical Responders stand by during each event.
Here in Eureka Springs the Club has donated to many organizations. Local businesses help to sponsor this event.
Mustang Club of America regional director is one of our own residents. Jeff Yergovich a founding member and his wife Julie.
The Club has donated to the Grassy K**b Vol. Vol. Fire Assoc. as well as the Flint Street Food Bank for the last eleven years.

We have a record breaking snow storm predicted. please be safe !!!

1. DO NOT SHOVEL SNOW UNLESS YOU ARE FIT TO DO SO. IF YOU DO, TAKE FREQUENT BREAKS. BE CAREFUL NOT TO FALL OR OVERWORK YOUR HEART.

2. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE AT LEAST A 3 DAY SUPPLY OF CRITICAL MEDICINES. INSULIN, BLOOD PRESSURE MEDS, SEIZURE MEDS, ANYTHING THAT IS CRITICAL TO YOUR WELL BEING. IF YOU HAVE A FILLABLE PRESCRIPTION AND CANNOT MAKE IT TO THE PHARMACY I WILL GO AND PICK UP ON TUESDAY UNTIL THE SNOW MAKES IT IMPOSSIBLE. MY CELL IS 612.267.0222

3. IF YOU HAVE A MEDICAL EMERGENCY I.E. HEART ISSUES, BREATHING ISSUES, ANY LIFE THREATENING EMERGENCY OR IF YOU FALL AND ARE UNABLE TO GET UP CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY. GRASSY K**B EMS WILL RESPOND AS WELL AS EUREKS SPRINGS.

4. IF YOU LOSE POWER AND DEPEND ON AN OXYGEN CONCENTRATOR CALL 911 AND WE WILL RESPOND WITH OXYGEN.

5. CARRY YOUR CELL PHONE WITH YOU AT ALL TIMES, EVEN IN THE HOUSE. IF YOU FALL AND CANNOT MOVE YOUR CELL WON'T HELP IF YOU CANNOT REACH IT.

PLEASE BE CAREFUL, WATCH YOUR STEPS INSIDE AND OUTSIDE TO MINIMIZE THE CHANCES OF A FALL. SO TO RECAP CALL 911 IN AN EMERGENCY. DISPATCH WILL SEND US AND EUREKA SPRINGS AMB TO YOU. AND IF YOU NEED MEDS THAT YOU CANNOT GO GET YOURSELF CALL ME.

Kudos to the firefighters that showed up on the brush fire that started in Bayshores. The fire was sweeping uphill towards a residence. We were lacking manpower and in need of those that failed to respond. The hill was extremely steep and even with 400' hose lines we could not reach all of the fire. Forestry was called to assist and after 3 hours the fire was out with all firefighters exhausted. The community is blessed to have you so let's keep paying it forward. None of us are getting any younger and you should know that as your chief, I fully appreciate your service.

If we CAN NOT FIND you, we CAN NOT HELP you
in an emergency such as a fire or medical situation. Homes are often hidden from view at the beginning of a driveway; only posting numbers on your home does not help responders recognize where you live since they must first turn down your driveway to find your home. The Grassy K**b Volunteer Fire Board provides reflective 911 address signs free of charge to all Grassy K**b residents. Just need the house number and if you want vertical or horizontal orientation.
