You get back to your vehicle.
You close the door.
Then you sit there checking texts, looking at social media or getting directions pulled up.
It feels safe because you’re inside your vehicle—but it’s also easy to become distracted by the screen in your hand and stop noticing what is happening around you.
Try building a simple habit:
👀 Take a quick look around as you approach your vehicle.
🔑 Have your keys ready before you reach it.
🚗 Once inside, lock the doors.
📱 If you need to use your phone before leaving, stay aware of what is happening around you.
And if something—or someone—doesn’t feel right, don’t worry about being polite. Create distance, move to a safer location and ask for help if you need it.
Awareness isn’t about being afraid. It’s about paying attention.
Enjoy your Saturday, Woodford County. Stay aware and stay safe.
