It all started when Bill Christ made one of his first farm visits as a COUNTRY Financial agent.

Christ saw a two-cylinder John Deere A tractor for sale — and a hobby of collecting antique tractors was born.

Decades of antique tractor collecting will be on full display later this month in Metamora as Christ and a group of Woodford County farmers host a tractor show in honor of America's 250th anniversary.

"This is the first time we're doing it and it'll probably serve a purpose of showing the evolution of agriculture, certainly from some of these older tractors up to the new ones," he tells Rita Frazer in this week's episode of Vintage County.

Christ plans to drive a 1977 - 1570 CASE, a clone to the original 1976 Spirit of ’76 15 around the town square during the first Village of Metamora Tractor Show Aug. 30.
