This course will give participants an understanding of the science behind floods, flood forecasting, flood risk assessment and best practices for preparation and mitigation of flooding. Through this course, participants will increase their abilities to interpret forecasts and will enhance their own preparedness from short term to long term flooding, to sudden flooding, such as flash floods. This training will be held in the Powers Creek Community Room at Blue Lake Rancheria (1 Aiyekwee Loop, Blue Lake, CA 95525).
