Post Adoption Services Project

We are sad to announce that because of longstanding changes in State Regulations and how it affects our client base, and some even newer changes in adoptions, Adoption Horizons and The Post Adoption Services Project will be closing after 40/20 years of service to 26 counties in California.
The Post Adoption Services Project is closing immediately. Adoption Horizons will remain open until July 2023. The Staff is in the process of organizing the office for a future "Office Sale (TBA)". All client files will be transfered to the State Department of Social Services in Sacramento. The Staff will not be able to meet with families regarding their files at this time. We are awaitng advice from SDSS regarding next steps.
We thank you for all the wonderful support and encouragement over the many years. Please keep posted.

The Humboldt County Board of Supervisors would like to recognize that November 2021 was Adoption Awareness Month in Humboldt County. The Board asks that the community join in supporting and applauding families who adopt and to remember that there are children still waiting for their forever families.

Adoption Horizons

Preparing Emily Nelson (who job shadowed last year) and Jordyn Jenkins (her mother was an AH Board Member and she interviewed me for her HSU class) for attendance in the upcoming NACAC Virtual Conference 2021.

NACAC offers topics on Foster Care and Adoption for parents and professionals. I have been to 15 of their trainings.

Both Emily and Jordyn were adopted from China (I helped their parents many years ago) and now they are coming full circle by showing an interest in adoption.
