Pine Hill / South Bay Schools Pine Hill Elementary School serves children from TK through grade three. It is part of the South Bay

Pine Hill School is one of two schools in the South Bay Union School District. Pine Hill School is situated on a bluff overlooking Humboldt Bay on the south side of Eureka, California just off Highway 101 at the Herrick Avenue/Elk River exit. Pine Hill School is convienient for parents and families who commute to and from Eureka. Pine Hill has an after school program that provides academic support

and a variety of activities for students until 6:00 pm each school day. The school has recently modernized classrooms and boasts a library/media center with over 15,000 items in its collection. The library is fully staffed and is open before, during and after school. Every student has their own device for accessing individualized online learning platforms. In a heartfelt gesture to honor the life and lasting legacy of our beloved Principal, Heather G. Becksted, the South Bay Union Elementary School District Governing Board adopted Resolution No. 2601, officially recognizing May 20th of each year as the Day of Joy and Kindness in her honor. This day is dedicated to reflecting the spirit she brought to her work by intentionally spreading joy and demonstrating kindness to others.
