Pine Hill School is one of two schools in the South Bay Union School District. Pine Hill School is situated on a bluff overlooking Humboldt Bay on the south side of Eureka, California just off Highway 101 at the Herrick Avenue/Elk River exit. Pine Hill School is convienient for parents and families who commute to and from Eureka. Pine Hill has an after school program that provides academic support

and a variety of activities for students until 6:00 pm each school day. The school has recently modernized classrooms and boasts a library/media center with over 15,000 items in its collection. The library is fully staffed and is open before, during and after school. Every student has their own device for accessing individualized online learning platforms. Hi Pine Hill Community! The Family Resource Center is looking for a few volunteers for the school year for some specific tasks. The first one is coming by a few times a month to pick up donations we aren’t currently in need of to donate elsewhere (thrift stores etc). The second one is delivering our Friday food bags to classrooms on campus on Friday’s -this one won’t start till the end of September.

Pine Hill School is Hiring!

If you're kind, patient, and want to make a real difference in the life of a child, we'd love to have you join the Pine Hill family!

We currently have an opening for a classroom aide at Pine Hill Elementary. Our paraprofessionals play an important role in supporting students throughout the school day—helping with academics, building social-emotional skills, supervising on the playground and in the cafeteria, and being a caring, positive presence for our youngest learners.

No two days are the same, but every day is an opportunity to make a child feel seen, supported, and successful.

In a heartfelt gesture to honor the life and lasting legacy of our beloved Principal, Heather G. Becksted, the South Bay Union Elementary School District Governing Board adopted Resolution No. 2601, officially recognizing May 20th of each year as the Day of Joy and Kindness in her honor. This day is dedicated to reflecting the spirit she brought to her work by intentionally spreading joy and demonstrating kindness to others.
