⚠️ 12 PM SUNDAY UPDATE: The Red Flag Warning was expanded to include additional portions of central and western Utah as well as the Uinta Basin. Critical fire weather conditions are expected Monday, June 16th. Remain fire aware and avoid activities that can cause a spark!

Wildfires in Utah are becoming more frequent and intense, and embers can travel over a mile!

That means even homes far from the flames are at risk. Here are some tips on how to harden your home and help reduce that risk:

✅ Clear debris from rain gutters
✅ Use fire-resistant roofing materials
✅ Cover all vents with 1/8" metal mesh
✅ Install double-paned windows
✅ Treat decks and fences with fire retardant
✅Remove flammable items like furniture and firewood from around the home

This is especially important for Utah homes surrounded by vegetation.

🔥 April is Heating Up in Utah! 🔥

As of April 7, 2025, Utah has already seen 68 wildfires reported across the state. Out of these, 62 were human-caused, and 5 remain undetermined. Notably, 23 of these fires were sparked by open or debris burns.
