Kick off volunteer month in Eureka! 🌸 Help us maintain the native planters in Old Town on Saturday, September 5 from 9am-10:30am. Meet us at the Eureka Visitor Center 108 F St., all supplies are provided.
🥯All volunteers who attend get a free bagel breakfast by Los Bagels!
‼️As part of our volunteer appreciation month, volunteers who attend all 4 events in Volunteer Month will be entered into the Grand Prize drawing for a chance to win a $250 Pierson’s Building Center gift card! There will be opportunities for additional prizes available throughout the month.

Have you heard about Watercolor Workshop? Meet the wonderful artists that lead this class!

Nicolette Reinsmith is an oil painter based in Eureka, California. A 2024 graduate of California College of the Arts, she earned her B.F.A. in painting and drawing. Her work is informed by her upbringing in rural northern California, examining the complex intersections of American rural life, class distinctions, and gender roles, exploring how these forces influence both personal identity and the broader American cultural dynamic.

Kathlina Eayre is an art student at College of the Redwoods and a local artist. Kathlina does watercolor caricatures of people and and animals at local events as a vendor. She works in many ways in the art community, through her own ventures as a caricature artist, as a watercolor instructor, through local theatres as an actor and prop maker, and many other ways. Kathlina is an up-and-coming artist in Humboldt and looks forward to more artistic endeavors in this class and beyond!

Haven't signed up for class yet? There are still a few spots available! Sign up for a plein air style class along the Eureka Waterfront Trail or in Sequoia Park.

🍕 Thursday, September 3 at MOD Pizza, 2626 Broadway St. Eureka. 20% of all orders that use the code MODGIVES20 on the app or mentions the fundraiser at the store will go the Carson Park Improvement Project! This fundraiser will be going on all day Thursday, Sept 3rd but you must mention the fundraiser or use the code.

👖 The Repair Café is an international movement that connects skilled volunteers with community members who have broken items in need of a second life, which keeps useful items out of the landfill and in our homes where they belong. If you have a broken lamp waiting to be fixed or a hole in your favorite jeans waiting to be patched, bring them on down for a FREE repair to the ADORNI CENTER, 1011 Waterfront Drive from 10am-2pm on Sunday, September 13.

▶ Items must be small enough to be carried by yourself, and you must take them home at the end of the event. If you have the materials for the repair, please bring them. Examples of items to bring include; bikes, laptops, lamps, clothing, jewelry, stereo, small wooden furniture, and more!

The new school year is upon us, but those school breaks are right on our heels! Check out upcoming Eureka Community Services Break Camps for the 2026-2027 school year. All break camps take place at the Cooper Gulch Recreation Center and operate from 8AM-5PM. These camps are open for kids ages 5-12.

Did you miss us? There's still a chance to get out and celebrate reading with Eureka Community Services and the Humboldt County Library - Eureka Main Branch!

🏀🏀Registration for Men’s Fall Basketball League is now OPEN!🏀🏀

Come join our exciting Men’s Fall Basketball League! The league is open to adults 18 years and over and games will be played on Monday & Thursday evenings at the Adorni Center. Grab your friends and co-workers and form a team today! Make sure you beat the buzzer and register your team by September 18th!

🏀The 9 game season begins Thursday, October 8th, 2026 and games are played through mid-December
🏀The league plays on Monday & Thursday nights
🏀Games played at the Adorni Center (1011 Waterfront Dr.)
🏀Must be 18 and over to register
🏀League Fees: $525/team plus $10 non-resident fee for players that live outside the city limits
🏀Registration: Begins August 24th, 2026 and ends on September 18th, 2026
🏀Minimum 4 teams

⚽Check out our upcoming Toddler Sports classes this fall! These classes are designed to introduce kids ages 3-5 to the basics of soccer, basketball, and baseball with fundamentals practice and light competition. There's still room in both sessions for your child to join in the fun!🏀
