We are an agency that cares for people in our community who are in the last stage of life so that they can die at home, in a familiar environment, surrounded by their loved ones. Hospice is a philosophy of caring. Once a patient with a terminal illness is enrolled in Hospice, we offer a full range of medical and supportive services provided by an interdisciplinary team. Meet Aletha Stark, one of our dedicated team members who joined Hospice of Humboldt in April 2025 as a Case Manager RN. With over 20 years of nursing experience, Aletha was inspired to transition into hospice care after finding some of her most rewarding moments in providing compassionate end-of-life support.

For Aletha, life is like a journey—sometimes uphill, sometimes smooth—and it’s truly meaningful to help patients experience comfort and peace in that final stretch. 💙

Outside of work, she cherishes time with her wonderful family, including her husband, two daughters, and stepson.

We’re grateful to have such a compassionate and experienced nurse on our team!

Hospice of Humboldt was honored to receive a $500 grant from the Rotary Club of Eureka . The grant will support the purchase of an IV simulator arm, which will be used in training our patient care staff. We truly appreciate this gift from our local Rotarians!
