🚧Maintenance Notice

A Measure O project will begin on Tuesday, June 16, on Ishi Pishi Road. Humboldt County road crews will be chip sealing on Tuesday, followed by contractors fog sealing the freshly chip-sealed surface on Wednesday, June 17.
Work will take place between 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.

Travelers should expect delays of more than 15 minutes. Please follow all traffic control signs and drive safely through the area.

🚧 Construction Notice

Measure O Resurfacing Project on Bald Hills Road will begin from Highway 101 to approximately 3 miles up Bald Hills Road. Work will start Tuesday, June 16 and is estimated to end on Friday, June 26 or sooner.

Travelers should expect delays great than 15 minutes. Road work will take place on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please follow all traffic control signs and drive safely through the area.

🚧Construction Notice

Road work in various locations throughout the county begin on Monday, June 15, and will continue through Thursday, June 25.

The following communities impacted by road work are, Bridgeville, Carlotta, Arcata Bottom, Blue Lake, Trinidad, and Westhaven.

All roads will experience delays greater than 15 minutes with traffic control on weekdays from 7:00 am through 5:00 p.m. and will require more than one day of road work.

Commuters are asked to follow all traffic control devices and signs within the construction area and allow for extra travel time when possible. Thank you for your patience while work is in progress.

These projects are funded by Measure O.

Expected Full Closures will begin on Monday, June 29 and will end on Friday, July 3 between the hours of 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

🚧 Construction Notice 🚧

Storm Damage Repair on Palmer Boulevard near the intersection of Page Way. Work will begin on Monday, June 15 and will end in September 2026. The project will consist of a new retaining wall with guardrail improvements.
Work will take place on weekdays between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.

There will be temporary full closures with dates still yet to be determined. Follow this post for more updates.

Motorists should anticipate delays greater than 15 minutes during active construction periods.

A Measure O-funded project began today on Redway Drive and Redwood Drive. Contractors are scheduled to work in the Redway and Garberville areas through Wednesday, June 3, on weekdays only from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Tomorrow, Friday, May 29, Bear Canyon Road will be closed from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Work is also scheduled on Melville Road and Redway Drive.

Monday, June 1: Melville Road, Church Street and Redwood Drive (westbound lane)
Tuesday, June 2: Redway Drive, Redwood Drive (eastbound lane), Bear Canyon Road, and Melville Road
Wednesday, June 3: Church Street, Redwood Drive (westbound lane), and Redway Drive

Please plan accordingly, follow all traffic control signals, and drive safely through and near work areas.

Road crews have been busy preparing for upcoming Measure O projects by grinding road surfaces, paving, cleaning ditches, and replacing culverts.

A Double Fiberized Micro Slurry Seal is scheduled on the following roads in the Garberville and Redway areas from Thursday, May 28, through Wednesday, June 3, weekdays only, between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.:

Redway Drive
Redwood Drive
Bear Canyon Road
Melville Road
Church Street

Expect delays of more than 15 minutes. Please plan ahead, slow down in work areas, and follow all traffic control signs and directions.

At this time, contractors are scheduled to begin a double fiberized micro seal on Redway Drive, Church Street, Bear Canyon Road, Melville Road, and Redwood Drive.
Work is scheduled for Thursday, May 28 through Wednesday, June 3 between the hours of 7 A.M. and 5 P.M. Weekdays only.
Please drive with caution and follow all traffic control signs.
Expect delays up to 15 minutes or more.

Storm damage repair on Alderpoint Road. South of Burr Creek, near the Bridgeville area at mile marker 42.00 - 42.30
Construction will begin on Thursday, May 21 through October.
Expect delays greater than 15 minutes during weekdays and please follow traffic control signs.
Work will take place between 7 A.M. - 5 P.M.

Funded by Measure O, the A.A. Hadley Suspension Bridge, on Lindley Road, underwent major deck repairs. After the repairs were completed by William J. Etter Construction, the Ferndale crew paved the bridge approaches with assistance from the Rohnerville, Freshwater and Bridge crews.
