Native Ways of Knowing – Summer Jumpstart Program

We’re excited to invite students to a unique and enriching summer experience designed to support Native American students in building cultural connection, academic readiness, and confidence for the upcoming school year.

📍 Program Details:
• Dates: June 22 – July 31
• Location: Eureka High School
• Who: ECS Native American students entering grades 6–12
• Cost: Fully funded (free for all participants)
• In partnership with Blue Lake Rancheria

✨ What Students Can Expect:
• Indigenous knowledge, storytelling & cultural teachings
• STEM & hands-on learning experiences
• Academic skill-building & school transition support
• Wellness practices & leadership development
• Mentorship from Native educators & community leaders

🎓 Additional Benefits:
• Earn up to 30 credit-recovery units
• Collect attendance-recovery days
• Field trips to places like:
– Sumeg Village
– Stone Lagoon
– Sequoia Park
– And more!

Our goal is to create a supportive, empowering space where students can strengthen their cultural identity, build meaningful connections, and prepare for success.
