You have heard of PSPS right? Have you heard of EPSS? Here is How EPSS works;
To help keep communities in and around high fire-risk areas safe, PG&E has enhanced safety settings on our powerlines. They are known as Enhanced Powerline Safety Settings, or EPSS.
These settings detect hazards on the powerline and shut off power quickly to prevent an ignition. By preventing ignitions, PG&E can stop wildfires before they have a chance to start.

Find out if your home or business is served by an Enhanced Powerline Safety Settings (EPSS)-capable line. https://www.pge.com/en/outages-and-safety/safety/community-wildfire-safety-program/cwsp-progress-map.html

PSPS What is a Public Safety Power Shutoff?
Severe weather, such as high winds, can cause trees or debris to damage equipment. If there is dry vegetation, this could lead to a wildfire. That's why we may need to turn power off to keep you safe. This temporary outage is called a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS).
Prepare for outages with backup power.
PG&E first-time battery storage customers may be eligible for a $7,500 rebate on the purchase and installation of a qualifying permanent battery storage system.
This program is offered on a first-come, first-served basis, while funding is available.

See if you qualify: Enter your address into the Wildfire Safety Progress Map. When the popup appears, click the "Backup Power Solutions" tab to see if you are eligible. https://vizmap.ss.pge.com/mapview/

What is a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS)?
Because high winds may cause trees and debris to contact
powerlines and start a wildfire, PG&E may need to turn off power to
protect your community. This is called a Public Safety Power Shutoff,
or PSPS.
Contact 211 Humboldt to speak with a live agent about
your outage needs. Dial 211, text “PREPARE” to 707-441-1001
or visit pge.com/211.
A 211 care coordinator can help you:
Connect to local hotel options and car rides
Secure food replacement
Get referred to health and safety programs
and backup power

Hello fellow Californians, It's time to Prepare! Plan! and Get Ready! As the climate crisis intensifies, California faces the risk of wildfires all year now, particularly in years of extreme drought conditions that leave the state's foliage a tinderbox. Most fires happen between the months of April and October, as weather becomes warmer and drier. If you or your loved ones need help in preparing for a fire, or other disaster that may cause power to go out or cause PG&E to implement a Public Safety Power Shut off commonly referred to as a PSPS event. Please have them reach out to 2-1-1 Humboldt to help Prepare! Plan! and Get Ready! for a PSPS event. You can reach us by dialing 211 or 707-441-1001.
You can also follow the link below to schedule an appointment with our Care Coordinator to prepare for Public Safety Power Shutoffs (PSPS) events.
