Our first Summer Reading event on Thursday was a great success!! We read A Carrot Seed, written before I was born and planted carrot seeds in pots to take home! We planted flowers to bring beauty to our yard all summer long! And we ate Dirt Cake in which worms were hiding-it was delicious! Most of all, we were delighted to host 35 children, their parents and caretakers! They checked out 56 books as they prepare to read to fulfill their goals and get some delicious rewards! Thank you to our volunteers, Betty Taul, Beth Kerzner, Kylie Corkern and Karen Kloepping! We are also grateful to the Chamber of Commerce for their financial donations to help pay for supplies!

Our next event will be June 25 when we celebrate the United States 250th birthday.

SUMMER READING BEGINS ON THURSDAY, JUNE 11 AT 10 AM!!! Please join us as we unearth Fresh Dirt! We will plant seeds in dirt, plant beautiful flowers in dirt and eat some dirt! We may even get dirty so dress for a mess! And, of course, there will be a story and many books to check out to read for treats at the Creamery!
If you haven't registered yet, you may do so when you arrive!

I knew after I read “Before We Were Yours” by Lisa Wingate that I wanted to read more works by this talented author. “The Book of Lost Friends” did not disappoint! It did take me longer than usual to read with all the Old South vernacular, and I did have to read a lighthearted book in between, but this is a HIGHLY RECOMMENDED 4.75 👍 and you can find it at the Eustis Public Library! 📚
It made me want to teach literature again!!! And…I do know book titles are in italics, but my phone doesn’t do it…I don’t think. 🤔

Thank you Judy Brockmeier for covering the library for me this Saturday as we attend the graduation of our grandson, Gavin Rupe, in Omaha! Have a blessed and safe Memorial Day weekend as we remember those who died fighting for our country and many other loved ones!

Please turn in your registration forms for Summer Reading to Ms. Kloepping, Ms. Corkern, Ms. Kerzner, Ms. McMains or the library!! We need to plan for supplies! We look forward to unearthing some stories and activities soon!
