Evadale Volunteer Fire Department

Evadale Volunteer Fire Department The Evadale VFD was first organized in May 1959. Voters approved creation of Rural Fire Prevention District Two in 1983.

Today the department has grown to include five trucks and over 20 volunteers. The department is honored to serve Evadale.

As of ten this morning medical response in Jasper County ESD 2 was transferred to Allegiance Mobile Health. It is the cumulation of a years work by ESD commissioners to bring EMS service to the district. An Allegiance ambulance and personnel will be housed 24/7 at the fire department. The first medical call came in thirty minutes after the handover. In this mornings meeting commissioners expressed gratitude to the residents who approved the sales tax in 2025 making this improvement in service possible.

Tonight, in a special meeting of the Jasper County ESD #2 Commissioners after reviewing proposals chose Allegiance Ambulance Service to provide ambulance service for the district. Once the contract is finalized Allegiance will provide 24-7 emergency services for the district and an ambulance, paramedic and EMT will be stationed at the Evadale Fire Department.

Firefighters training tonight on supporting a medical helicopter landing in a critical patient situation. Firefighters learned how to setup a landing zone and safety assist the medical crew. The availability of these medical personnel when needed can provide faster access to hospitals in Beaumont, Galveston, and Houston.

March is typically one of the highest wildfire risk months in Jasper County. We see:
• Increasing temperatures
• Gusty winds with passing fronts
