HEAR YE, HEAR YE!

A strange and powerful object has been discovered…

A CARD.

A LIBRARY CARD.

And with this card, you may enter not one…
not two…
but NINE LIBRARIES.

“NINE?!”

NINE.

And if the book you seek is not within our walls?

FEAR NOT.

For The Man in the Van shall travel the land FOUR DAYS A WEEK, carrying books from library to library like some sort of extremely wholesome medieval quest.

“Bring me the book!”

“Which book, my lord?”

“THE ONE FROM THE OTHER LIBRARY!”

***dramatic van noises***

And the best part?

THE EVANS CITY LIBRARY CARD COSTS NOTHING.

NOT ONE GOLD COIN.
NOT ONE SHILLING.
NOT EVEN THREE SILVER PIECES.

It is FREE.

Books. Movies. Audiobooks. Magazines. All sorts of wonderful things.

And yet, there are still people wandering the countryside without one.

WHY?!

Come to the library and get yours. It takes about five minutes, costs absolutely nothing, and suddenly you have access to 9 LIBRARIES and more books than you could possibly cram into your house.

ONE CARD.
NINE LIBRARIES.
FOUR DAYS OF BOOK DELIVERY.
ZERO GOLD COINS.

Your quest awaits.

Now go forth, brave reader.

AND GET THY LIBRARY CARD! It's national library card sign up month!!!

Disclaimer: The Man in the Van is not, in fact, a medieval knight. Please do not attempt to joust with the van.

We're now collecting used books for our upcoming book sale! Your donations help support our growing community ❤️

Thinking of donating? Please read our book policy below.

We cannot accept items with mold, insect infested, water or cigarette smoke damage, missing covers, writing inside, or loose pages... these will be discarded.

Please do not donate books if you currently have fleas in your home. This helps us protect our library, volunteers, and staff, and other donated books from the spread of fleas.

We’re unable to take textbooks, manuals, magazines, dictionaries, or thesauri.

Donated books should NEVER be dropped off outside the library or left after hours of operation (even if left in bags or boxes). This can cause mold and mildew to grow, which can spread to other books and surfaces in the library causing irreparable damage. Mold can also create health concerns for our staff and patrons.

All donated items must be in good condition no matter what their age! Remember, our sale is only as good as what we have to sell!

If you’d like to donate, simply bring your items to the front desk, and our staff will be glad to assist you with drop off details.

Thank you for helping us keep our book sale safe and enjoyable for everyone. And thank you for supporting our community and your local library! 💙

We’re heading into our FINAL week of Summer Reading! Thank you to everyone in our community who has supported us, shown up for programs, brought your kids in, volunteered, donated, and helped make this summer possible.

It has been a BUSY couple of months, but seeing how much the kids and families have enjoyed everything makes it all worth it. ❤️

🐮 We have some exciting news... the library has officially adopted a dairy calf!

Don't worry, we won't need to build a pen for her! She'll be staying on the farm, but through the Discover Dairy Adopt A Cow program, we'll receive photos, stories, and updates throughout the upcoming school year that will bring her to life for all of us.

Ms. Steffi will be incorporating cow themed mini lessons into storytime and other children's programs as we follow our calf's journey and learn more about dairy farms, where milk comes from, and the important role farmers play in our communities.

We can't wait to meet our calf and share her adventures with you. As soon as we learn her name and receive her first update, we'll introduce her to everyone. Stay tuned! 🐄💚

The 26-27 Adopt A Cow Program Begins in 55 days!
