✨ As we wrap up August, we are once again reminded of just how much there is to be thankful for at Riverside! 💙🐬

From our kindergarteners learning to sort like groups and sequence events, to putting old proverbs to music notes 🎶, to continuing to let creativity shine through art 🎨, our students are learning, creating, and finding new ways to illuminate their minds every day!

We are also excited to see our PTO dollars at work! The installation of our new playground canopies has begun, giving our students more opportunities to enjoy their playground while staying protected from the sun. ☀️

And we celebrated another exciting first—the first use of our Riverside Reward Room! 🎉 Seeing our students recognized and celebrated for their positive choices is what it’s all about!

August has been filled with learning, creativity, celebrations, and plenty of reasons to smile. We are so grateful for our amazing students, staff, families, and PTO who continue to make Riverside such a special place.

Now, bring on September! 🍂✨ We can’t wait to see what’s next as we continue Illuminating Minds and Inspiring Futures! 💡🐬

We are beyond proud to celebrate Mrs. Airgood, our amazing IRR teacher, who was named the CCBOE August Special Education Teacher of the Month! 🎉💙

She truly gives her all to her students each and every day. Her heart for children is evident in everything she does. She is selfless, kind, compassionate, and endlessly dedicated to making sure every student feels seen, valued, supported, and loved.

She has a remarkable gift for seeing the potential in every child and creating an environment where they can learn, grow, and shine. She doesn’t just teach—she pours her heart into her students and advocates for them in every way.

We are so incredibly blessed to have Betsy as part of our RES family!

August has been zooming by at RES!

As we are near the end of our first month back, we are celebrating all the learning, growth, and fun happening throughout our school.

Today, students celebrated their success on the fall benchmarks with fruit roll-ups and meaningful data chats with their teachers. It was a great opportunity for students to recognize their hard work and set goals for continued growth.

Last week, we were thrilled to welcome families to our 26-27 Parent Orientation, where parents had the chance to connect with teachers and learn more about the exciting year ahead.

Our classrooms and specials have been full of hands-on learning experiences! Students explored the difference between what we can observe with our own eyes versus what can only be seen through magnification, sparking curiosity and scientific thinking.

In PE, students put their skills to the test while building Hula Huts through teamwork and creativity.

In the media center, our third grade students listened to the prologue of Mercy Watson Goes Missing, and they either tackled the Percival Tower challenge or became forensic artists and sketched Percival's portrait.

Of course, we can't forget the wonderful moments of recess that help everyone recharge, make memories with friends, and enjoy being kids.

We would also like to give a special shoutout to one of our students who put his creativity on canvas, displaying our three R's and the Riverside Mascot.

We had such a wonderful time celebrating our amazing bus drivers at our Bus Driver Appreciation Breakfast!

It was so good to see some of the wonderful people who work hard each day to safely transport our students and help start and end their school days on a positive note. We enjoyed good food, great fellowship, and lots of smiles!

Most importantly, we want our bus drivers to know just how much they mean to us. We are committed to making sure our incredible drivers always feel valued, appreciated, and truly a part of the RES family. 🐬💙

Thank you for all you do for our students and our school community! We are so thankful for each of you!

This honor is awarded to schools that demonstrate an outstanding commitment to academic achievement, leadership development, character, service, and the success of our Beta students.

This recognition reflects the hard work and dedication of our students, sponsors, teachers, staff, and families who continually strive for excellence both inside and outside the classroom. We are incredibly proud of our Beta members for representing RES with leadership, service, and school pride each day!
