Join the ACC for our Annual Crossover Celebration this Wednesday at 6pm • A celebration of where we have been and where we are going!

Crossover is an end-of-year ceremony that honors students as they transition to the next chapter of their education. At its heart, it is a celebration of growth, community, and of the young people we have all had a hand in raising.

The ceremony is rooted in African cultural tradition and guided by the Seven Principles of Kwanzaa which emphasize unity, purpose, creativity, and collective responsibility. Students at every grade level are recognized for their progress, while fifth graders mark the occasion with a symbolic bridge-crossing as they prepare to enter middle school.

Crossover is a community promise: that we see these students, we are proud of them, and we are sending them forward with everything we have given them...and everything we expect them to give back.

We warmly welcome all families, neighbors, and community members to join us in celebrating our students. Come witness the bridge-crossing, enjoy student performances, and be part of the village that makes this moment possible.

Get Ready! One of our favorite weeks is NEXT WEEK! 🍎 ✨

Oakton has THE BEST teachers & staff around, and the PTA is working hard to make them feel special all week long because next week is TEACHER & STAFF APPRECIATION WEEK!

Look out for more details to come about teacher & staff massages and reflexology, custom gifts, as well as fun raffle prizes that will be announced all week long!

We are asking parents/caregivers to help us provide breakfast on Monday, May 4th and Friday, May 8th, as well as a NEW Cinco de Mayo nacho bar lunch on Tuesday, May 5th.

Time for our annual Oakton PTA Seedling Fundraiser! With the help of a generous Oakton family we have an abundance of plants ready to sell. 2026 is BIGGER and BETTER!!!

Place your seedling order by filling out this form below by April 30th and pick up your order at the Oakton School Garden (corner of Ridge and Austin) on Saturday, May 2rd between 10am to 12pm.

All preorder seedlings are $6 each. All plants are in 2" pots except for lettuce mix, sugar snap peas and green beans which are in larger pots.

Payment can either be done in cash, check, or venmo at the sale. Checks should be made out to Oakton PTA.

Please pass along word about our upcoming Oakton Open Houses on Thursday, March 19th at 2:00pm and 5:30pm. We look forward to welcoming any new families to our school and providing more information on the programs we offer.

Whether you can join us in the afternoon or the evening, these sessions are designed to give you a comprehensive look at what makes Oakton so special. You will have the opportunity to tour the school and learn more about our General Education, African Centered Curriculum (ACC), and Two-Way Immersion (TWI) programs.

Please join us for whichever session works best for your schedule. For both events, you can enter the school through the main doors. Kids are welcome at both events. Please RSVP here to let us know you are coming!

We are excited to announce that Oakton in Motion, our annual fundraiser is back!! Mark your calendars for Thursday, March 19th for its fourth year 📆 Last year was a tremendous success—raising over $8,000 for our school and the PEP One Fund—and we can’t wait to bring that same energy and excitement back again this year.

On that day, every Oakton student will commit to 30 minutes of movement, dancing with our wonderful friends from 💃🏻 🪩

Please support our students by sharing this page with friends, family, coworkers, neighbors, loved ones, and local businesses! All funds raised will go toward supporting our school—funding field trips, musical instrument scholarships, our garden program, Story Store, and so much more.

Winter Fest is around the corner and we hope you join us on February 5 from 5:30-7 (enter through the doors on Austin by the garden!) ❄️

Enjoy the festivities inspired by Indigenous Futurism and the majestic Northern Lights! All 3rd graders will be performing 3 times the night under the lights. If your child is performing, please have them attend in all black clothes and shoes.

We will have crafts, snacks for purchase by and and story time with - a big thanks for our fine arts team for making this event come to life and to Oakton parent for balloons!
