"He energizes the band program so much that students are coming before school, after school, and for entire rotations, all to learn from and play with him," D65 family member Bridget Ragnarsson said about band teacher John Carroll. On a recent field trip, "He even invited young elementary kids up for a chance to conduct the Nichols Band, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if one of the audience members went to sleep dreaming of conducting their own band someday."

Congratulations, Mr. Carroll, on your High Five Award! πŸŽ‰

"Beyond his job responsibilities the one thing for me that I just love about him is that he has been such a role model for our Black boys β€” for them to see someone at his capacity and his leadership role with so much integrity and compassion for the kids and for just education generally has been such a blessing for our building," says Assistant Principal Khloe Battle.
