A few City of Evanston staff, Councilmember Iles, and I joined the annual Unity Soccer Fest to help raise funds so more kids can attend Camp Kuumba Evanston and participate in sports.

It was great to see staff from our Parks and Rec CARE Team and Youth & Young Adult Division, Public Works, and the City Manager’s Office, along with our families, come together in support of our community.

A fun morning, a great cause, and another reminder of what makes Evanston so special. ⚽

The Evanston Fire vs. Police Grill-Off was a hit! 🍔🔥🚒👮

The burgers were delicious! I let my kids cast our votes, and I won’t be asking who they decided was best.

A great way to spend a Sunday morning with my kids while supporting an amazing cause. Thank you to everyone who made this fun community event possible!

It was an honor to welcome the Consulate of Costa Rica to its new home at Lula B. Sherman UMC here in Evanston.

Our community is strengthened when we create spaces where residents can access important services, celebrate their culture, and stay connected to their roots. I look forward to the positive impact the Consulate will have on Costa Rican families and our broader community.

¡Bienvenidos a Evanston! 🇨🇷

🇺🇸 Happy Fourth of July! 🇺🇸

As we celebrate our nation’s 250th birthday, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of the City of Evanston staff who make today’s celebration possible.

From our Police Department, Fire Department, Public Works, Parks & Recreation, and the many other departments working behind the scenes, thank you for your dedication, professionalism, and service to our community. While many of us enjoy time with family and friends, you are working to ensure our celebration is safe, welcoming, and memorable for everyone.

We appreciate all that you do and are grateful for your commitment to making this historic celebration possible.

It was an honor to attend today’s Rotary New Year celebration and witness the installation of Rotary’s new president, Olayinka “Yinka” Babalola of Nigeria.

Every year on July 1, Rotary begins a new year with the installation of a new president and the raising of a new flag, symbolizing renewed leadership, service, and a shared commitment to making a positive impact around the world.

As the home of Rotary International’s global headquarters, Evanston is proud to celebrate this meaningful tradition. I was honored to present an Evanston pin as a small token of appreciation and to recognize this special occasion alongside so many dedicated Rotarians!

Congratulations to President Olayinka “Yinka” Babalola on this historic milestone. Wishing Rotary a wonderful year of service, fellowship, and creating lasting impact.
