When people hear about CASA, they sometimes assume it's a national issue happening somewhere else.

But CASA's impact is local.

Every day, Vanderburgh County CASA helps support better outcomes for children and families right here in our community.

Our volunteers provide consistent advocacy for children experiencing abuse or neglect, helping ensure their needs, safety, and well-being are considered throughout the court process. Because every child in Vanderburgh County deserves the opportunity to thrive.

Behind every CASA case is a volunteer who chooses to show up—again and again. ❤️

Whether the visit is just over the bridge to Henderson or several hours down the road, our volunteers make the trip because every child deserves a consistent, caring advocate. They visit children, attend court hearings, collaborate with professionals, and remain a steady presence throughout a child's journey.

What many people don't see is that those miles are often paid for out of the volunteer's own pocket.

⛽ You can help make those miles a little easier.

By donating a gas gift card during our Gas Card Drive, you're helping reduce the cost of travel so our volunteers can continue making the visits that matter most. Every gift, no matter the amount, helps ensure children have an advocate who can keep showing up when they're needed most.

Thank you for supporting the dedicated volunteers who go the extra mile for children in our community. Together, we're making a lasting difference—one visit, one mile, and one child at a time.

Every child deserves someone to speak up for them.

Right now, there are approximately 1,000 children in Vanderburgh County with open abuse and neglect cases who need an advocate.

While Vanderburgh County CASA works hard to support as many children as possible, current volunteer capacity allows us to serve only about one-third of the children who need a CASA volunteer.

No child should have to go through the court process alone.

⛽ Fuel An Advocate. Change a Child's Story.
*Gas card drop off: CASA office - 600 SE 6th St. Monday - Friday, 8AM-4PM.

When a child has a CASA volunteer, they have someone who keeps showing up.

Every month, our volunteers make the drive to visit the children they serve, attend court hearings, meet with caregivers, and advocate for what's in each child's best interest. They don't ask if the drive is worth it—they simply get in the car, because they know consistency changes lives.

⛽ Our Gas Card Drive continues through August 9.

A gas gift card—whether it's $10, $25, or more—helps ease the cost of travel so our volunteers can stay focused on what matters most: being a consistent, trusted presence for local children.

If you're looking for a simple way to support children in our community, this is one that makes an immediate impact.

Thank you for helping our CASA volunteers go the extra mile for the children who need them most. ❤️

⛽ Fuel An Advocate. Our Gas Card Drive Starts Today!

Every month, CASA volunteers travel hundreds of miles to visit the children they advocate for. Those visits happen in cities such as Santa Claus, Fort Wayne, Indianapolis, Gary, Owensboro, and many places in between.

These dedicated volunteers receive no reimbursement for gas expenses, they gladly take on this cost because every child deserves someone who consistently shows up.

From July 13 through August 9th we're inviting our community to help keep our volunteers on the road by donating gas gift cards.

Gift cards from Circle K, Speedway, Marathon, On the Fly, Shell, and VISA are all welcome.

Every gift helps ensure our volunteers can focus on what matters most, advocating for children.

Thank you for helping us fuel hope, one mile at a time. ❤️

CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocate. But for a child in Vanderburgh County going through one of the hardest experiences of their life, it means something much more personal than that.

It means having someone show up, listen, learn their story, and make sure their voice is heard in a court system that can feel overwhelming and confusing for a child.

CASA volunteers help make sure a child's voice is heard and their best interests remain at the center of important decisions.
