🧥 Koats for Kids is coming! ❄️

Our Koats for Kids collection begins next week! We’re collecting gently used winter gear that will be cleaned and offered free of charge to local families later this fall.

We’re looking for:
🧥 Winter coats
❄️ Snow pants
🥾 Snow boots
🧤 Hats and mittens
🧣 Scarves

We especially need snow pants through adult size M and snow boots through youth size 6.

Collection bins will be available at locations throughout Evansville beginning September 8. The full list of locations is coming next week.

And there's another way you can help: we already have quite a few coats and snow pants that need to be washed. 🧺 Contact AWARE if you are interested in helping with laundry!

UPDATE: Thanks to quick responses, we have enough volunteers for what we currently have available to be washed. But our donation drive starts next week, and we know we'll have more items needing to be laundered between now and October 8. Stay tuned!

🧺 We need laundry helpers!

These bags are full of gently used winter gear that was donated to Koats for Kids—and now it’s time to get everything clean and ready for local kids. 🧥❄️

We’re looking for volunteers who can take a bag (or more!) home, wash the coats and snow pants, and return them to AWARE.

Coats need to be washed and returned by 12 p.m. on October 8.

A load of laundry might seem like a small thing, but it helps make sure a child has clean, warm winter gear when they need it. ❤️

🎒 Snackpackers is back!

Because hungry children cannot learn, the most essential school supply is food.

Starting next week, ECSD students can receive a bag of free, nutritious, shelf-stable food to take home each weekend during the school year.

Snackpackers is available to students who qualify for Free and Reduced Lunch, students referred through the school district, or families who are simply having a hard time making ends meet right now.

If your family could use a little extra help with food on the weekends, we’d love to help. ❤️

📅 The first Snackpackers bags will go home Friday, September 11.

We're amazed by the generosity of the Evansville community!

If you still have supplies at home waiting to be returned, please bring them back to the location where you picked up your tag by the end of the day today, August 17.

Every backpack we distribute on August 19 represents neighbors helping neighbors, and we're grateful for every person who has adopted a student.

The return deadline is almost here!

If you've adopted a student through AWARE's Back to School Supplies Program, please return your donated supplies to the location where you picked up your tag by August 17.

Distribution to participating families takes place on August 19, and having supplies returned on time helps us make sure everything is sorted, packed, and ready to go.

As you're finishing your shopping, please remember that all school supplies should be returned to the location where you picked up your tag by August 17.

Our volunteers will begin organizing supplies immediately afterward so families can receive them on August 19.

Every year, generous community members help make AWARE's Back to School Supplies Program possible.

By adopting a student, you're doing more than purchasing notebooks, pencils, and folders. You're helping a local child walk into school feeling prepared and ready to learn.

Tags are available at:
• Creekside Place
• Robin St. Clair's Office
• Lake Ridge Bank
• Participating local churches

Please remember to return supplies by August 17 to the same location where you received your tag so we can prepare for distribution on August 19.

A quick reminder for everyone who has already adopted a student through AWARE's Back to School Supplies Program.

Our distribution day is August 19, which means volunteers need time to sort, organize, and pack supplies for each student.

That's why we ask that all donated supplies be returned to the location where you picked up your tag no later than August 17.

Your prompt return helps us make sure students receive their supplies on time and families have one less thing to worry about as the school year begins.
