fire out.
extinguish formal to make a fire stop burning no chance of starting back up A more usual word is put out or extinguish

Fire control
The practice of reducing the heat output of a fire, reducing the area over which the fire exists, or suppressing or extinguishing the fire by depriving it of fuel, oxygen, or heat

Fire Containment
simply means that a line will have been dug all the way around the perimeter of the fire, but the blaze itself is expected to still burn within it for weeks, if not months. If a fire is 100 percent contained, that means firefighters were able to complete a perimeter around it and stop it from spreading

You don't have too call a fire out right away you can call contained a wait a day or two and go back and check it and call it out it just look bad when you get call back out for a rekindle
