It's June, meaning kids will soon be on Summer Break. We will be sharing some safety reminders throughout the week, starting with everyone's favorite topic, electric scooters.

E-scooters can be a fun way for them to pass the time. However, they are vehicles that need to be handled with care.

If you are a parent, talk to your kids about following the law and operating their e-scooters safely.

Congrats Yutzil for completing AEMT training!

We’ve seen an increase in the use of electric scooters, bicycles, and e-bikes throughout the community. While these can be fun and convenient ways to get around, riders are reminded to operate them responsibly and remain aware of their surroundings at all times.

Parents are encouraged to speak with their children about safe riding habits, the importance of following traffic laws, and respecting pedestrians. Riders should use caution near roadways, intersections, parks, and other high-traffic areas.

Drivers are also reminded to stay alert for scooters, bicycles, and e-bikes traveling on and near streets and crossings. Taking a few extra seconds to look carefully can help prevent serious injuries. Officers will also be on the lookout for dangerous or reckless riding behavior to help ensure everyone is using our streets and pathways safely.

Attached to this post is a graphic that includes important safety reminders, riding tips, and information on laws related to electric scooters, bicycles, and e-bikes. We encourage everyone to take a moment to review it and help keep our community safe.

Our goal is to help everyone enjoy the community safely and responsibly.
