If your veteran wishes to participate and can’t walk the 1 mile we can provide a wheelchair for him or her. You simply need to send an email for this request to [email protected].
If the veteran needs someone to push them, please send that email request as well to [email protected] We hope to have a large turnout of volunteers, supporters, veterans and guardians participating. 🇺🇸✈️🙌🏼

🇺🇸Today, on Women’s Recognition Day, Honor Flight Southern Indiana, proudly honors the incredible American service women who have worn our nation’s uniform with courage, strength, and dedication. 🇺🇸
From the battlefields to the home front, from past generations to those serving today, women have answered the call to serve our country with honor and sacrifice. Their contributions have helped protect the freedoms we enjoy every day. 🇺🇸✈️

To all of our women veterans and active-duty service members: THANK YOU. ❤️🤍💙 Your service, resilience, and commitment to our nation inspire us all. We are forever grateful for the sacrifices you and your families have made. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your service, your strength, and your unwavering love of country. It is our privilege to honor you. We salute you today and every day. 🇺🇸

With great respect and sadness we share the passing of Veteran James L. Lemond, 93, of Evansville. AO3 Lemond served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. After service, Jim worked for Whirlpool for 33 years, retiring as Manager of Quality Engineering. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, Westside VFW 565, American Legion and Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Jim loved God, family, traveling, especially with his beloved wife, Evelyn, and had many hobbies, including boating, golfing and attending his many grandchildren’s activities. He was an avid IU Hoosier’s sports fan. We had the privilege of providing Jim his Honor Flight in 2018, EVV9 red bus. Our condolences and prayers go to his family and friends. Thank you Sir for your service and commitment to this great country and your community. Your dedication is appreciated, respected, and will not be forgotten. Rest in Peace and know you made a great difference. 🇺🇸✈️🙏🏼⚓️

With great respect and sadness we share the passing of Veteran William "Bill" Baumholser, 99, of Boonville. DC3 Baumholser graduated from Bosse High School before proudly serving his country in the United States Navy during both World War II and the Korean War. Following his military service, Bill built a long career with Lensing Wholesale, where he worked for many years before retiring. He was passionate about preserving history and generously supported the Evansville Wartime Museum, contributing many pieces of military memorabilia from his personal collection. Bill was well known throughout the community for portraying Santa Claus alongside his beloved wife, Blossom, who served as Mrs. Claus. Together, they brought joy to countless children and families for more than 50 years. In his younger years, Bill enjoyed riding motorcycles and pursuing his love of aviation, often spending time flying airplanes. Bill was a talented s***t and trap shooter and was a long-time member of the Izaak Walton League in Boonville. We had the privilege of providing Bill his Honor Flight in 2014, EVV1 white bus. Bill & his wife were great supporters of our Welcome Home Parades Alumni section. Thank you Sir for your service and commitment to this great country and your community. Your dedication is appreciated and will not be forgotten. Rest In Peace and know you made a great difference. 🇺🇸✈️🙏🏼⚓️
