University of Southern Indiana ROTC leads and trains cadets from the University of Southern Indiana, University of Evansville, and Vincennes University to meet the Army's leadership requirements to commission as 2nd Lieutenants in the United States Army, Army Reserves, or the National Guard. The University of Southern Indiana is an extension center of the Wabash Battalion 7th Brigade Cadet Command US Army. The Wabash Battalion host school is Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology where they also have Indiana State University, Depauw University, and Saint Mary's of the Woods as a part of the Battalion of Cadets. It prepares you with the tools, training and experiences that will help you succeed in any competitive environment. Along with great leadership training, Army ROTC can pay for your college tuition, too. You will have a normal college student experience like everyone else on campus, but when you graduate, you will be an officer in the United States Army. Fall FTX
Fall FTX, conducted at CAIN, Camp Atterbury and evaluates land navigation skill proficiency, introduces cadets to the Situational Training Exercise (STX) at the squad level. Spring FTX
Spring FTX, conducted at Camp Atterbury, IN, is the final proving ground for cadets bound for Advanced Camp. Platoon size STX lanes are conducted and evaluated identical to what the cadet will experience at Advanced Camp. Basic Course Cadets complete a confidence course, an obstacle course, and a paintball battle day. Once again, land navigation skills are tested both day and night. Variable lanes are also included, offering a cange from the standard STX lanes. Every Army ROTC Cadet who enters into the Advanced Course attends this evaluation for branching points. It's a four-week summer course to evaluate and train all Army ROTC Cadets from around the US. This course normally takes place between your junior and senior years of college, and is conducted at Fort Knox Kentucky. Those who attend Advanced Camp at the end of their senior year of college will receive their commission into either the Army, the Army Reserves, or the National Guard.
