Vanderburgh County Commissioners The County Commissioners are the executive branch of government for Vanderburgh County.

The three commissioners, President Justin Elpers, Vice-President Amy Canterbury, and Member Mike Goebel, live in different districts in the county and are elected countywide. Districts 1 and 3 are elected in Presidential election years, and District 2 is elected in Presidential mid-term election years.

From Vanderburgh County Highway Department:

Please be advised that Volkman Road will be closed between Highway 41 and Korff Road starting today, June 3rd at 7:30am and will not reopen until tomorrow June 4th at 4:00pm for pipe installation. This road will be closed to all traffic due to the road being cut open. Expect equipment and workers in the area. Please avoid this area and plan on taking an alternate route. From Vanderburgh County Highway Department: Please be advised that Henze Road will be closed between Mill Road and Number 6 School Road today, June 2nd and tomorrow June 3rd for paving. This area will be closed from 7:30am to 3:00 pm. This road will be closed to all traffic except local and emergency vehicles. This closing is dependent on weather and equipment issues. Expect equipment and workers in the area, and expect delays. Please avoid this area and plan on taking an alternate route. Please be advised that South Weinbach Avenue is closed until further notice between the Levee and River Road due to high water.

From the Vanderburgh County Highway Department:

(1) Please be advised that Strueh Hendricks Road will be closed between County Line Road and McDowell Road today, May 13th. This area will be closed from 8:00am to 3:00pm for emergency road repair.

(2) Please be advised that Nisbet Road will be closed between Pruitt Road and Baehl Road today, May 13th. This area will be closed from 8:00am to 3:00pm for pipe installation.

Both roads will be closed to all traffic. Expect equipment and workers in the area, and expect delays. Please avoid this area and plan on taking an alternate route. Should you have any questions please contact Vanderburgh County Highway Department at 812-435-5777.
