Please be advised that Old State Road will be closed between Mt. Pleasant Road and Evergreen Road today, September 9th for ditch work. This area will be closed from 8:00am to 3:00 pm. This road will be closed to all traffic, except local and emergency vehicles. Expect equipment and workers in the area, and expect delays. (1) Mesker Park Drive will be closed between Folz Road and Detroy Road today, September 3rd for tree trimming. This area will be closed from 8:00am to 12:00 pm.

(2) Creamery Road will be closed between Hogue Road and Posey County Line Road today, September 3rd for shoulder work. This area will be closed from 8:00am to 1:00 pm.

Both roads will be closed to all traffic, except local and emergency vehicles. Expect equipment and workers in the area, and expect delays. The Board of Commissioners of Vanderburgh County will be presenting the 2026 State of the County on Tuesday, October 6 at noon at the Rotary Club of Evansville's luncheon located at the Bally's Riverfront Event Center. The Commissioners will provide updates on county initiatives, projects, and priorities during the program.

📢 Applications Now Open: Data Center Research Committee 📢

The Vanderburgh County Commissioners are now accepting applications from individuals interested in serving on the newly established Data Center Research Committee.

The Committee will research and evaluate the potential impacts of data centers on Vanderburgh County and its residents, including issues related to land use, infrastructure and utility capacity, transportation, stormwater and drainage, environmental resources, public safety, noise, heat, and economic development. The Committee will ultimately present its findings and recommendations to the County Commissioners and the Area Plan Commission.

We are seeking applicants with a variety of professional, technical, business, agricultural, and community backgrounds. Areas of expertise that may be particularly valuable include:

• Agriculture and rural land use
• Land use, planning, and zoning
• Environmental science and natural resources
• Electrical utilities and energy
• Water and wastewater infrastructure
• Civil engineering and infrastructure
• Transportation and traffic
• Stormwater and drainage
• Public safety and emergency management
• Noise and acoustics
• Heat, HVAC, and building systems
• Community and neighborhood representation

Professional expertise is encouraged, but you do not have to be an expert to apply. We also want to hear from Vanderburgh County residents who can bring a thoughtful community perspective to the Committee.
