We’ve got that mural itch again… 🎨👀

Reminiscing on this downtown beauty and the way a once-blank wall became a piece of Batesville. 🌸

Created by the incredibly talented Carly Dahl + Dustyn Bork, this mural is still one of those little moments downtown that makes us stop, look up, and remember just how much ART can change a space.

And now… we’re getting the itch for another art collaboration. 🤭

So, Downtowners, we want to hear from YOU.

What a beautiful mural right here in Sharp County. When the weather cools down how about sitting in the little park there reading a book or just admiring the beauty!

BINGO! Let’s have some fun with a little different style of BINGO. This will start September 1, 2026 cards will be ready to pick up on August 28 here at Evening Shade library.

Summer is Done, School is Starting up. Our Summer Reading program has finished. Now What? Stay tunes for some more fun coming September 1, 2026. What could the Williford Library have planned for our Fall Program? Maybe we can team up with our sister Libraries. A couple of weeks ago, one of the sweet kids from our Summer Reading Program handed me these little notes decorated with some of the stickers we gave out during the program. They may look simple, but they mean the world to me.

This summer, we spent our Thursdays learning about America’s history, reading together, making crafts, asking questions, and having fun. Along the way, we also learned the importance of being respectful, encouraging one another, and showing kindness.

Receiving these sweet notes reminded me that children are always learning, not just from the lessons we teach, but from the way we treat them and each other. Seeing that kindness returned is one of the greatest rewards of working at the library.

Sometimes the smallest acts of kindness leave the biggest impressions. To the special child who gave me these notes, thank you. You brought a smile to my face and reminded me why I love what I do. I’ll treasure these little notes as a wonderful memory of an amazing summer and of our America 250 Summer Reading Program. ❤️📚🇺🇸💕
