A refrigerator seems like a simple convenience, but after a fire on a near 100 degree day it takes on a different feel. There was no room in our former stations for a refrigerator, but now having a cold drink waiting after a fire is a big improvement. It reminds us to thank everyone again that made our new fire station a reality. Our firefighters and their families for all the fundraising, donations, and sweat equity. All the people and businesses locally and regionally for all the donations. Thank you!

Brush 1, Brush 2, and Tanker 711 responded to a grass and corn field fire today in the Everest area. The fire was extinguished rapidly with a minimum of crop damage. Thanks goes out to Horton Fire for the assist. Today's fire was likely the result of discarded smoking materials. Please discard ci******es and other smoking materials properly. With the wind today and the corn being dry this fire today could have been considerably more destructive.
