LOA Mutual Aid Ministry Embracing Unity, Nurturing Faith

07/02/2026

So… I had a thought for the 4th of July.

And by “thought,” I mean my brain casually suggested I make deep-fried deviled eggs, smoked hotdogs, hamburgers, chips, and Capri Suns like I own a food truck, a catering company, and an extra set of hands.

I already know somebody is about to say,
“Janelle… that is just too darn much.”

And honestly?

They might be right.

But I’m thinking about making it a little family affair and putting together some community food for the neighborhood kids, our neighbors, and some of the elderly residents at the local supportive housing complex.

Nothing big. Nothing fancy. Just a little food, a little love, and a little “we see you” on the 4th.

Because sometimes community looks like a meeting.
Sometimes it looks like advocacy.
Sometimes it looks like showing up with a plate, a Capri Sun, and a hotdog wrapped in foil.

So if you see us outside looking like we underestimated the assignment… no, you didn’t.

We’re just trying to love on the neighborhood a little bit.

League of Angels Mutual Aid Food Bank is getting back into motion.

We’re starting where community always seems to start best...with food, willing hands, and people who still believe we belong to each other.

As we ease back into full swing, we’re beginning with community meals** and building from there. We are currently seeking:

Food donations — pantry staples, snacks, drinks, produce, meat, buns, condiments, paper goods, and meal supplies.

Food and grocery partnerships — local stores, restaurants, farms, caterers, churches, community groups, or anyone willing to help stretch resources.

Volunteers and better angels — folks who can cook, prep, pack, deliver, donate, sponsor a meal, or simply show up with a servant’s heart.

Scripture says, “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat…"
Matthew 25:35

That’s the work. Not fancy. Not performative. Just people doing what they can, with what they have, for whoever God places within reach.

Message me if you want to donate, partner, volunteer, or help sponsor a community meal.

Blessed be.

Hey y’all… we’re back. 👼🏾✨

And when I say “back,” I don’t mean polished, perfect, color-coded, committee-approved, or pretending the last two years didn’t come with some lessons, losses, stretching, shifting, and a whole lot of “Lord, what exactly are we doing here?” moments.

I mean we’re back in the way Janelle comes back best:

With family in tow.
Hands busy.
Hearts open.
Food probably involved.
A plan that started small but somehow turned into “Well, since we’re already doing it…”

League of Angels is stepping back into our zone and not as a church, not as a program, and not as folks trying to look holy for the camera. We don’t “do church” in the traditional sense, so we don’t tithe in the traditional sense either.

But baby… we do believe in offerings.

Offerings of time.
Offerings of food.
Offerings of care.
Offerings of presence.
Offerings poured right back into the community that raised us, needs us, sees us, and sometimes just needs somebody to show up without making it complicated.

Scripture says, “Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.”
Hebrews 13:16

And that’s the spirit we’re moving in.

God moves in mysterious ways, and sometimes the “ministry” is a plate of food, a kind word, a ride, a listening ear, a creative project, a child feeling seen, or an elder knowing they haven’t been forgotten.

We’re asking God to guide our hands, guard our hearts, order our steps, and use us however He sees fit to deliver His word not just by what we say, but by how we love, how we serve, and how we show up.

Because faith without works is just a pretty speech.

So yes, y’all…

The League of Angels is back.
The family is rolling with me.
The community is on my heart.
And Janelle is officially back in her “watch me make this bigger than I planned” ministry.

May God use it.
May the people feel it.
May love lead it.

Blessed be.

A very special thank you to all of our volunteers, donors, and future pledged sponsors. Without you we couldn't do the work that we do in the community.

If ANYONE runs out of food or necessities or times are just tough...please don’t let yourself or your kids go to sleep with an empty stomach. Don’t be afraid or embarrassed to send me a private message. I am more than happy to share whatever I can. I will drop and go. No one has to know and I will pretend it never happened.
What's understood never has to be explained! ❤️❤️
