Friday Funny! Why did the baseball player go to the union representative? He felt like his manager was always throwing him curveballs during contract negotiations. 😆

See you tomorrow (Saturday) at the Aquasox game!

Good morning Delegates. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to attend the Aquasox Solidarity Night this Saturday. As always, should you or any member of your union not attend, the Labor Council will disavow all knowledge. This message will not self-destruct in 5 seconds. Good luck Delegates.

Check it out. Our very own Charlotte was quoted several times throughout this article.

And thank you to reporter, Michael Whitney, for highlighting the grant program at the Snohomish Education Foundation. Access to apprenticeships do make a difference.

We’re so grateful to the Tribune for shining a light on SEF’s Trades Initiative and the students, donors, and community members helping it grow - Tap the link below to read the article in full!

This article shares the story of Gabriel Cortes, whose Trades Initiative grant helped provide the professional tools he needed to begin his barbering apprenticeship, along with the story of Ray Emery, whose generosity and own experience beginning his career as an apprentice have helped give this program momentum.

The Trades Initiative helps Snohomish students and recent graduates with some of the real costs that come with pursuing a skilled trade, from tools and equipment to training and other career-specific needs.

There is so much heart behind this program, and Ray’s story is one we’re especially grateful to see shared.

Thank you for taking the time to tell these stories and highlight another pathway available to Snohomish students.

We hope you’ll take a few minutes to read the full article below! 👇
