How do you feel about question 7??

🏡 COULD YOUR PROPERTY HAVE MORE POTENTIAL THAN YOU THINK?

Massachusetts voters will weigh in on Question 7 this November, a proposed change to residential zoning that could create new opportunities for homeowners, buyers, and developers.

The initiative would make it easier to build certain single-family homes on qualifying lots, potentially opening the door to new construction in communities throughout Massachusetts.

What could this mean for property owners?

🏠 New possibilities for qualifying vacant land

🏠 Potential opportunities to subdivide larger properties

🏠 Greater flexibility for homeowners and developers

🏠 New considerations for property values and future investments

Not every property would qualify. Lot size, street frontage, utility access, and other requirements would still matter. And importantly, Question 7 is a proposal—not current law.

I was very saddened to hear of the passing of Ron Farnell.

Ron was truly one of those special people who made Everett a better place. I have so many wonderful memories of him over the years…. his sense of humor, his stories, his friendship, and the genuine love he had for our community.

Ron gave so much of himself to Everett, especially to generations of our young people. I’ll always remember having the honor of presenting him and his wife Judie with the Key to the City. It was well deserved, but Ron’s true legacy will always be the countless lives he touched and the wonderful memories he leaves behind.

On behalf of Stacy and me, we extend our deepest condolences and love to his Judie; his children, Sharon, Rick, and the entire Farnell family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Rest in peace, Ron. You were one of a kind, and Everett was lucky to call you one of our own. You will be greatly missed.

Our hearts are with Officer Jermaine Bellard and his entire family during this unimaginable time.

Many in our Everett community know Officer Bellard for his dedicated service as a member of the Everett Police Department and as President of the Everett Patrolmen’s Union. We are deeply saddened to share that this fundraiser is in honor of his beloved niece, Jewel.

In 2008, when most of the EHS Class of 2026 were just entering this world, I was stepping into the role of mayor during one of the most uncertain times our community had ever faced.

What I never could have imagined then was the privilege of watching these incredible young people grow up alongside our community — through wins and losses, challenges and triumphs.

My faith in the students of EPS never wavered. Not once.

To the Class of 2026: I hope you carry this with you — never let anyone else define your success or limit your dreams. Anything is possible when you believe in yourself.🎓

Congratulations to the Class of 2026 and their families. This moment belongs to all of you. 🎉

There are moments that make you pause and really think about the road behind you. This was one of those moments for me.
I am deeply grateful to the Zion Baptist Church, Bishop Robert Brown, Marcia Brown and Dr. Regina Shearer for recognizing my 32 years of public service and the work I’ve been honored to do for our city and surrounding communities.
Truthfully, when you’re in it, you don’t think about years or recognition. You just keep going.
You show up. You listen. You try to do the right thing, even when it’s hard. And over time, those day turn into decades filled with people, stories, challenges, and memories that stay with you forever.
Being recognized during Black History Month makes this especially meaningful. It’s a reminder that leadership is
about standing for equity, fairness, and dignity for every person, and understanding that we move forward strongest when we move forward together. Those beliefs have always guided
me, and they always will.
I share this honor with everyone who walked this journey with me. The residents who placed their trust in me,
the colleagues who stood beside me, the friends and family who supported me
through every season. You are all part of this.
Thank you for allowing me the privilege to serve. I carry this recognition with a grateful heart.
