Did you know that SABES - Massachusetts Public Adult Education PD System offers three different learning foundations academies, Math, ELA, and ESOL? These are opportunities to support teachers at different stages of their professional learning journey.

Each Academy offers sustained, practice-focused professional learning that gives educators an opportunity to explore effective instructional approaches, apply new ideas in their classrooms, reflect on their practice, and learn alongside colleagues from across the field.

Our upcoming academy - The English Language Arts Foundations Academy - supports ELA teachers in developing effective and engaging instruction for adult learners. Participants explore student engagement, lesson planning, evidence-based reading instruction, differentiation, and reflective practice through self-paced activities, facilitated sessions, and coaching. Starting January 11 and running through May 21, 2027. Register now to save your spot by scanning the QR code or visiting: https://www.sabes.org/event/55786

Juggling drop-offs, full-time work, bedtime routines... and now homework?

To every parent stepping back into the classroom while raising a family and holding down a job: you are doing heroic work.

It isn't easy balancing late-night study sessions with morning rush hours, but every page you read, every math problem you solve, and every goal you reach is building a brighter future for you and your family. You aren't just getting an education—you’re showing your kids what resilience and determination really look like.

Flexible classes, online options, and supportive adult education communities were built for schedules just like yours. This is what Public Adult Education of MA can help you with.

It’s a lot to juggle, but you don't have to do it alone.

From building English skills and community connections in our 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝗳é to training student leaders in our 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗔𝗺𝗯𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗱𝗼𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺, Public Adult Education of MA empowers waitlisted learners, current students, and alumni to grow as confident advocates and leaders.

Hear what a few of our incredible students from these two programs are doing today:

🎓One of the most meaningful experiences of this year was participating in the Leap Into Law program. I completed an internship at a local District Court, where I gained firsthand exposure to the Massachusetts judicial system and legal procedures. I also had the opportunity to intern at a prestigious law office under the supervision of an attorney, assisting with real cases and supporting the firm's daily legal work. I remain involved with the Leap Into Law program, which is helping connect participants with law firms and legal organizations to begin careers in the legal field. Through these opportunities, I look forward to applying the knowledge and skills I gained during the program while continuing to grow professionally within the Massachusetts legal system.
-Cesar

📓I recently completed my TESOL program and worked as an ESOL intern and Conversation Café facilitator, where I gained valuable experience teaching English to adult learners. I am currently continuing to improve my English skills and exploring new opportunities in education. One highlight I’m proud of is completing my internship and helping students build confidence in speaking English.
-Nawal

🦽I got a CNA State Job at a Veterans Hospital; I am also enrolled at a community college in their prerequisite program for nursing school.
-Jodie

🎩Since my time at ACLS, I have continued building my career while staying engaged in education and community work. I recently started a flexible new job that allows me to pursue freelance opportunities in acting, performance, and education. I also had the opportunity to work on an international event connected to the FIFA World Cup in Boston, where I welcomed and entertained guests in English as part of a hospitality and entertainment team. I continue improving my English and remain committed to lifelong learning while exploring new opportunities in education, the arts, and public engagement.

Today, July 20th, is National Moon Day, marking the anniversary of the 1969 moon landing—an event NASA called “one of the single greatest technological achievement of all time.”

But monumental leaps don't just happen in space. They happen right here in our adult education classrooms every single day.

For an adult learner, walking through our doors to learn a new language, earn a high school credential, or master a new career skill takes immense courage. It might feel like a small step on day one, but it is the start of a giant leap toward a brighter future, a better career, and a completely redefined potential.
