Last week, we had Redline here at our central station to go through and clean everyone’s turnout gear. In doing so, they not only wash the gear, they take every piece apart, inspect it and if it needs to be replaced, they can replace it on site before giving it back to a firefighter. Having a company like this is vital in the fire service because it helps eliminate the toxins that may be trapped in our gear, even after washing it ourselves. On the last day, Chief Hickey had Mayor Robert Van Campen come down to see the operation and meet their management team so he could see what it takes to go through our gear piece by piece and after, even got a tour of the station by our training officer, Captain Collins. Thank you Mr. Mayor for visiting the station and a big thank you to Redline for coming out and taking the time to clean our gear to keep US safe!
