Participants in the Roots & Shoots program at the Barn at 50-Acre Park recently created their own bird feeders using peanut butter and bird seed. Each student will hang the feeders in their backyards where they will observe which birds come to visit and get a bird count. Roots & Shoots USA is a youth service program held through the Evergreen Park Youth Department where students work as a team on a project to improve the environment.
The Evergreen Park Youth Department has been awarded a Grassroots Grant from KidsGardening.org and ScottsMiracle-Gro. With this award, the EP Youth Department will be able to expand their summer programming through summer garden programs and volunteer opportunities. More information about these programs will be available soon.
The Stacks Social Club is an exciting library initiative, funded in part by a grant from Autism Welcome Here, to provide dedicated programs for young adults with disabilities. If you want to learn more, volunteer, or become a sponsor, come to our holiday open house Sunday, December 19, 11 am to 1 pm! Make a holiday ornament, tour the Library, and meet staff! Evergreen Park Community High School Oak Lawn Park District Evergreen Park Youth Department PLEASE SHARE to help get the word out!
Jenna made it back to the Library on the Trike-a-Delic Rider after a full day at the Senior Health Fair at Fire House OSF Little Company of Mary Medical Center.

Next up! Mary will be at Yukich FieldsEvergreen Park Youth Department Thursday evening to sign kids up for our Reading Colors Your World Summer Reading Challenge!
