Recent state legislation now allows fire districts to use sales tax as a funding option. A
proposed sales tax of 0.89% could raise an estimated $5.44 million annually. This would fund
paid firefighters and paramedics, volunteer recruitment, wildfire efforts, community
education, emergency response and infrastructure/stations. We want your input first before
we make a decision.

Did you know emergency and non-emergency calls in our district have increased 107% over the last ten years?

We cover nearly 126 square miles and serve approximately 26,000 residents, but only 3 of our 8 fire stations are partially staffed 24/7. The demand for service is growing faster than our revenue. It's time to talk about solutions.

Last month EFR personnel saved the life of a patient whose heart had stopped. “These guys had an opportunity to work their clinical magic,” said EMS Chief Dave Montesi. Thanks to exceptional care on scene, during transport, and from the staff at CommonSpirit Health St. Anthony’s Hospital, the patient walked out of the hospital and is now home and enjoying the rest of their life.

Pictured are Gina Scarbrough and Dr. Sam Smith from St. Anthony’s, Firefighter Jeremy Hamilton, Assistant Chief Stacee Martin, Paramedic Dave Nieberlein, and EMS Chief Dave Montesi. Hamilton, Martin, and Nieberlein were assisted on the call by Firefighter Cheryl Denbow and Paramedics David Leonard and Mike Krull. They all knew what to do when it mattered most.
