Last Friday, our Mustangs spent the day learning, exploring, and connecting with history in Birmingham. Students visited the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute and the historic 16th Street Baptist Church, standing in the very places where courage and resilience shaped the Civil Rights Movement.

They also made their way to Vulcan Park to take in the views and discover how Birmingham’s industrial story was built from the ground up.

Proud of our students for representing TMMS with curiosity, respect, and Mustang pride all day long.

Thurgood Marshall Middle School made history at the History Bowl!

Our Mustangs defeated Monroeville Middle in the full Showdown Competition, with our 8th‑grade team also taking the grade‑level win. 🏆

A special Mustang shout‑out to Azariah Rankins, who earned Head‑to‑Head Top Scorer and was named MVP of the entire competition with an incredible 640 points.
