Municipal Animal Services Municipal Animal Services provides animal services to the cities of Everman, Forest Hill, Edgecliff Village, & Kennedale.

We are a municipal shelter that balances lifesaving efforts with the responsibility to protect public safety and animal welfare. MAS Officers are available for animal control services Monday - Sunday, 8am - 5pm except major holidays. Animal Control Officers are available for emergencies only after 5pm. Emergencies consist of: Loose livestock, animals that have bitten a person, wildlife that has bitten a person or is loose in their home, aggressive or threatening animals, and injured animals. All other after hours calls will be dispatched the following business day. All animals being held at the Municipal Animal Services shelter may be viewed on our website: https://municipalanimalservices.net/

🐾 YOU ADOPTED A DOG! NOW WHAT?

You brought home your new best friend, bought the toys, picked out the perfect bed, and you're ready to live happily ever after.

But your new dog? They're still trying to figure out what the heck just happened. 🫨

New people. New smells. New rules. New everything.

Even the sweetest, most lovable dog can feel overwhelmed by all that change. And sometimes, the dog you bring home isn't quite the dog you'll get to know a few weeks or months down the road!

That's where the 3-3-3 Rule comes in! 🐾

🟢 3 DAYS to decompress.

🟢 3 WEEKS to start learning the routine.

🟢 3 MONTHS to begin feeling truly at home.

These aren't deadlines! Every dog is different, and some need more time than others.

Here's the important part: Give them that time.

Be patient. Be consistent. Set boundaries. Build trust. And remember that training and guidance are just as important as all those snuggles.

A few bumps in the road don't mean you adopted the wrong dog. It might just mean your new best friend is still figuring out how to be YOUR dog.

BOO! Meet Ghost! 🐾🎃

Don't worry, this little Ghost isn't here to haunt anybody. He's just hoping to find someone to love him! 💚

Ghost is an approximately 4-month-old Lab-type mix with a gentle personality and a face that could melt even the coldest heart.

He's super sweet, mild-mannered, and just a little shy when meeting new people. He's not the kind of monster who comes crashing through the door demanding attention. Ghost prefers to check things out first, make sure you're good people, and then let his sweet personality do the talking.

We expect Ghost to mature into a large breed dog, which means there's going to be a whole lot more of him to love! And while he may be a quiet little gentleman right now, don't forget that he's still a PUPPY. He'll need patience, training, and guidance as he grows into those big-boy paws.

Ghost isn't looking to scare anyone. He's just looking for a family to call his own.

👻 The only thing scary about Ghost is how easy it'll be to fall in love with him!
