🇺🇸 AMVETS HAWAII | SEPTEMBER 2026
Aloha AMVETS Hawaii ʻOhana, Veterans, Families, and Community Partners,
As we begin September, we pause to remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost on September 11, 2001, and honor the first responders, service members, veterans, and families whose lives were forever changed. We will never forget. 🇺🇸
September is also National Su***de Prevention Awareness Month. This is an important reminder to check on one another, listen without judgment, and make sure our veterans and loved ones know they are never alone. Sometimes a simple phone call, visit, or conversation can make a difference.
We also extend a heartfelt MAHALO to everyone who represented Hawaii at the AMVETS 80th National Convention in Orlando, Florida, August 17–23. Your dedication and professionalism continue to demonstrate the strength of our Hawaii delegation.
A special congratulations goes to our Big Tire Bootcamp Team and AMVETS Hawaii Adaptive Fitness & Sports Program! 💪🇺🇸
We are especially proud that our resolution was adopted at the National Convention, recognizing and advancing our Adaptive Fitness & Sports Program as an AMVETS National Program. What began here in Hawaii continues to grow into something with national significance—creating opportunities for veterans through adaptive fitness, sports, teamwork, recovery, and renewed purpose.
This accomplishment belongs to our athletes, coaches, volunteers, families, supporters, community partners, and everyone who believed in the mission. Hawaii continues to lead the way!
As we also recognize Labor Day, mahalo to America’s workers and to all who contribute their time, talents, and hard work to strengthening our communities. We wish everyone a great, safe, and enjoyable Labor Day weekend.
September will be another busy month at the AMVETS West Oahu Veterans Center, and we look forward to continuing our mission of Veterans Serving Veterans and Our Communities.
Stay engaged. Check on a fellow veteran. Serve where you can. And never forget the strength we have when we work together.
