We believe every young person has the potential to thrive. 🌺

Child & Family Service's Hale O Ulu program is here to help make that happen! Based in ʻEwa, Hale O Ulu offers FREE support for youth ages 6 to 23 and their families, available year-round at no cost.

How we support our youth:
📚 Academic Tutoring: One-on-one and small group sessions available weekdays
🌟 Life Coaching: Career readiness, smart goals, life skills, and financial literacy

No matter where a young person is on their journey, Hale O Ulu is here to walk alongside them every step of the way.

Spotted across the islands! 🤙🏽✨

This past April, Child & Family Service teams on Maui, Oʻahu, and Hawaiʻi Island came together to raise awareness for National Child Abuse Prevention Month. From energetic sign-waving events to community gatherings filled with resources and conversations about positive parenting, our teams showed up with heart and purpose.

On Maui, we joined the Ho'oikaika Partnership's ʻOhana Fest to connect with families and promote child safety. On Hawaiʻi Island, our Hilo team hosted sign-waving events and a community resource fair at Prince Kuhio Plaza. And in ʻEwa Beach, our teams took to the streets and adorned the CFS lawn with blue pinwheels, a symbol of hope and our commitment to protecting keiki.

Like those blue pinwheels, our dedication to the safety and well-being of every child represents hope for a brighter future. Preventing child abuse takes all of us, and we are grateful for every honk, wave, and conversation that helped spread the word.

If you or someone you know needs support, CFS is here to help. Visit https://www.childandfamilyservice.org/ to learn more about our programs and resources for families.

We help strengthen families and foster the healthy development of children with over 45 programs statewide. One of our programs is Comprehensive Counseling & Support Services (CCSS).

Families are referred to CCSS through our partners DHS Social Workers (CWS), Family Strengthening Services (FSS), and Voluntary Case Management (VCM). Based on the Leeward side of Oʻahu, CCSS focuses on preventing child abuse and helping families stay together safely.

How we support our families:

🌱 Counseling & Crisis Intervention: Providing immediate support when it's needed most.
🌱 Parenting Education: Teaching positive parenting and communication skills.
🌱 Practical Help: Assisting with transportation, supervised visitation, and connecting families to community resources.
🌱 Foster Support: Helping foster families meet the unique needs of children in their care.

Happy Mother's Day to every mother who shows up with love and strength every single day! 🤍

At Child & Family Service, we meet mothers who are dealing with uncertainty and bravely facing tough times. Some are focused on keeping their children safe, while others are starting over after difficult experiences. This Mother's Day, we invite you to honor their courage by sharing a message of hope in the comments below.

Your message will be sent directly to mothers in our CFS programs, reminding them that they are seen, valued, and never alone.

It takes just a moment, but the impact can last so much longer. Every word of encouragement makes a difference! 🌺

April is National Volunteer Month, and we are so proud to highlight the incredible people who show up and make a difference. 🌱

This month, nearly 25 volunteers from the CFS Guild and Rotary Club of West Honolulu came together for a service day held in the spirit of Earth Day, transforming our grounds into a cleaner, greener, and more welcoming space for the children and families we serve.

From planting fresh greenery and building a sandbox for the little ones, every act of service was a reminder that small gestures of care can leave a lasting impact.

A heartfelt mahalo to the Rotary Club of West Honolulu for their generous support and to every volunteer who gave their time and heart. This is what community looks like! 🤍

We are incredibly proud to congratulate Dr. Dayna Schultz, who was recently honored with the prestigious Richard & Lynette Volunteer Award at the International Violence, Abuse & Trauma (IVAT) Hawaiʻi Summit, a recognition given to those who demonstrate an unwavering commitment to improving the welfare of others.

Dr. Schultz is a behavioral health professional with over 20 years of experience, bringing both deep clinical expertise and lived experience as a survivor of domestic violence and sexual assault to her work at the intersection of clinical care, cultural healing, and social justice.

On receiving the award, Dr. Schultz shared that the honor holds special meaning, as it is named after two pioneers in social work for Hawaiians who are dedicated to ensuring that the practice of hoʻoponopono and our cultural traditions continue to live on for generations to come.

Mahalo Dr. Schultz for representing CFS with such grace, authenticity, and aloha. 🌺
